Firstly, may I say, can we please keep "well if you are homosexual ---'s gonna happen to you after you die" out of the conversation? This isn't about whether homosexuality is "right" or "wrong". It's whether or not the government should allow homosexual unions (like marriages, but marriage is technically religious, so it would be union)
I think they should. To quote my friend, "Love is love, and heck knows this world needs more love."
Another point someone had brought up, they shouldn't be allowed to and get the same benefits because heterosexual couples would produce children.
Using this logic, then elderly people, people who can't physically get pregnant, people who hate kids and will never have them, also can't get married. Also, homosexual couples could adopt, or have children from a previous relationship/marriage.
Honestly, if they love each other, I don't see a reason not to let them have a union.
I haven't run into a person with a solid argument against it. They use the benefits one, or their religion. I think that the USA government is forgetting that not everyone shares their religion... |

The separation of church and state, one of the principal foundations of the United States. So there goes the church argument. I think Henna provided plenty for the benefits arguments. I ask the churches what's the different if a homosexual couple lives together, adopts children, and love each other without a marriage. Nothing, so let them marry, it doesn't affect you, and then homosexuals also get the benefits as heterosexuals. Or do we need another Martin Luther King Jr.? _________________ Remember, a velociraptor can run at 10 m/s (indoors) and it knows no fear. |

Exactly! Exactly. Wow. Somebody who's smart!
Sorry. Not used to such things.
It doesn't matter how many laws they pass or how many people they forbid to marry...

I dunno, I've just always been really against gay couples, because anyone I ever met either pretended to be gay or bisexual was doing it to be funny, and there's a hole hovel of gay supporters on neopets (on the neopian writers message boards) and they only like gay's so they can write pornos. And I told them that, they freaked out on me when I said they're porno was beyond sick and inappropriate, and they told me I was being sickeningly closed minded when I told them they only liked gays so they could write sick pornos, they all left because they couldn't think of anything to counter it.
And it's always driving me nuts that humans are the only animals that have gay relationships.
And I'd have to ask Mae about where in the bible it says homosexuality is unholy, I'm pretty sure it says it in there, and why it is so...but I'll preach elsewhere.

Personally I support what I believe.
Actually what I was going to say was that I support the logical solution. _________________ Remember, a velociraptor can run at 10 m/s (indoors) and it knows no fear. |

I can't really argue or support your opinion, Shaye, because I'm never around people and I can't (or maybe I choose not to. *shrugs*) comprehend emotion. Why do you think I've never dated? _________________

Eh, Hawky. I know this gay guy from San Francisco who loves Vodka and designs houses. Basically, this totall cliche, but he's so awesome!
I love him. He bought me this painting of a sunset (he's into art, too) because he knew that I loved sunsets, and I'm going to hang it in my room. It's the prettiest thing ever.
Plus, he's really funny. _________________ ~Shaye

See, all the gay people I know are those stereotypical kind you see in movies; the kind who are obsessed with kissing other men in the middle of a subway to proclaim their gayness, and...doing things loudly in their apartments...
I'm not saying all gays are sick perverts and whatnot. Just the ones I've met. I attract strange people. _________________

Do you mind if I don't want to go to Vermont, Hawky?
It doesn't sound nice.

No, I don't mind. But all the gay people I've ever met weren't Vermontians. They were mostly New Yorkers. When I was travelling the country in my truck.
But Vermontians are weird nonetheless. We're all mostly democratic, and really weird. We eat cheese religiously. Or maybe that's just me. _________________

Hey. Cheese is good.
Minnesotans eat... fish a lot.
Uhm. New Yorkers? You can't base any group of people off people you meet in New York.
I thought everyone knew this. _________________ ~Shaye

They wouldn't let me in to see a Broadway show.
Mostly because I didn't have ticket, but whatever.
And I said MOST of the gay people I've ever met were New Yorkers. There was one I met when I climbed Cadillac a little while ago, (he was driving this VW bug with a Idaho plate) and he told me about how he was totally organic, and played the kora, and raised tortises with his husband and they had been married for about 2 years or something. (and even their tortises were organic; their diet was entirely tofu and cabbage. xD) He was actually pretty cool. And then another one when I went to Maryland, they were walking along down the sidewalk and making out at the same time, it was kinda creepy...
I can't remember any others, though... _________________
