If you have a writer's block, in order to get the 'creative juices' (as my teachers calls it) flowing, pick four random words and try to make them fit together in a paragraph or short story. I've tried this before and it worked for me, because I had a huge writer's block after my dad died, and then my teacher told me to try it and it helped.
Like this:
1. Phone
2. Back
3. Sky
4. Pointless
I drove my car past all recognition, just to get away from the buzzing pagers and ringing phones that I hear everyday. The signs on the side of the road were getting older the farther I drove along, some rusty, some just fading with the sunlight. The sky was gray with a bluish tinge. I got out of the car at a particularly large bunch of trees, wondering why I left on this pointless journey anyway. I looked back along the road where my car threw up the gentle dust in the gravel road, and wondered how the hell I was going to get home.
You can add 's' or 'es' and things like that. Try to do it as fast as you can. I find it works better if you feel like you HAVE to finish it. _________________ ~Shaye

Can't we turn this into a game? Like, you choose four words, and the next person writes a paragraph and chooses four more words for the next person... It could be quite inspiring! _________________ Beware the evil donkey

I fully support that idea. _________________ Remember, a velociraptor can run at 10 m/s (indoors) and it knows no fear. |
