Thats what i call him anyway and theres a song that describes him perfectly, but ill try anyway.
Eyes that are a funny shade of pink, a pink that looks as if it could be mud. A face, almost always in shadow, along with the rest of him.
Hands that are stubby and gnarly, as if tree branches were trying to force their way out of his skin.
He walks with a limp
But hes short...
A gnarly pockmarked face and a lopsided grin... all he does is grin...
And shadow almost always in shaddow.
When i walk into my house... the house i seem to own when im dreaming hes there ... Grining ... sometimes, dripping blood from his teeth.
And i see him almost every night. Hes disrupting my creative flow...
In this dream he picks me up by the hair and drags me across coblestoned streets. To a Bell Tower.
I always think of quazimodo the Hunchback but... not as nice. He strapps me up to the bell tower frame for hours, left there with my own thoughts, in the pouring rain.
And then.
He lets me go.
And i fall... toward inevitable death.
But it never comes... _________________ I am sitting in my dingy little office, where a stingy
Ray of sunlight struggles feebly down between the houses tall,
And the foetid air and gritty of the dusty, dirty, city,
Through the open window floating, spreads its foulness over all.
Extract from Clancy and the Overflow, by A.B. Patterson.
Ironically he never actually went outside of a city his entire life, let alone Droving. phht. Henry Lawson was much more acurate, he didnt romanticise the Aussie bush. |

Write a story about him. Then he'll go away.
At least, that's how it worked when I was having this real nice string of dreams, then I wrote them down, and then I started having nightmares again. *Sigh*... _________________
