|
|
I know it's late... i had this competition posted... but then it was accidentally deleted... So anyway, it is the birthday of the gathering in a week and two days!
So to celebrate it in the right way, we are having a poetry competition!
This is a lot more rushed than i would have liked... But thats the way the cookies crumble!
So anyway, the theme is to be Parties, Anniversaries, Birthdays, things like that... I will also extend it to "Things that make you happy" (Bonus points if you make it about the forum, or the people on here, or things that you have enjoyed here! They will be added to the total scoring of the judges!)
I know it is short notice, for those of you who didn't see it before... But PLEASE try your best guys... Do it for the forum, and all the wonderful times it has given us so far!
You can send your entries to figment_queen@yahoo.com.au or just PM them to myself!
This competition will close on... July 1st at 11:59:59pm as the website dictates!
Good luck guys, please give it your all!
The Gathering's birthday is on the 4th of July!
Figgy. _________________

thats only two days after mine _________________ I am sitting in my dingy little office, where a stingy
Ray of sunlight struggles feebly down between the houses tall,
And the foetid air and gritty of the dusty, dirty, city,
Through the open window floating, spreads its foulness over all.
Extract from Clancy and the Overflow, by A.B. Patterson.
Ironically he never actually went outside of a city his entire life, let alone Droving. phht. Henry Lawson was much more acurate, he didnt romanticise the Aussie bush. |

I LOVE THE 4TH OF JULY!
See, over here, we celebrate our nations founding and what not. I was in the parade last year up in Maine...*sigh* I dressed up the old wagon as a cow and just said it's "The All American Beef". I wanted something cow-themed...yes...cows...
Could we write poetry about July 4th? _________________

Yes yes, i know all about what... "you people" do on the 4th of July...
I really didn't even think about what date it was when i created the forum!
Yeah... Well the 4th would classify under the "things that make you happy," would it not??? _________________
