awww *huggles* for butterflii and memory of bod!

I feel, and always have felt, that if you don't cry over someone's death, then you aren't respecting their memory. If you stand there as they are buried and you don't cry, its like you didn't even care enough to say goodbye...

I remember that i cried more at my great granddad's funeral a lot more than i did at my grandma's funeral, and i felt bad for that, for i loved my grandma so much, but i think the reason was that i hadn't spent as much time with my great granddad, so i felt bad for that time that we hadn't spent together...

I don't know.... i just feel that if you don't cry it is selfish... some people think that if you cry, you show weakness... thats why a lot of guys don't cry much... and some adults refuse the fact that crying is human, so you go to a funeral, and you see all these people crying, who don't usually cry.

They are setting aside their ways, and in one last gesture, telling that person who is gone, and everyone around, how much they loved that person.

And yes that is sad, but it is also beautiful.

I've also wondered why crying is a sign of remorse...is it just human culture? Or something that just happens when you're hurt?

I think it's just one of those things, a natural reaction to pain. Wether it's emotional or physical it's our bodies way of letting others know we are up set or relieving ourselves of that 'pain'.
Other animals do it aswell, wail or cry. Elephants cry when they find other dead elephants. Scientists are still trying to prove this wrong but I'm all for it. If Elephants only cry when they see a dead member of its species then I think it goes to show that they are upset . . .

Yes crying . .

It's just one of those things, Hawkins. One of those things.

The lkast person to die that I know, was a guy who was basically my grandfather, though not blood related. He was so kind, and looked after my Gran so well. He was one of the nicest people you could ever meet, and also one of the funnyest. Then he got cancer, and the stupid hospitals couldnt get rid of it without putting him through alot of pain. So he decided to die. I really hate hospitals now, because they haven't been able to save two out of three people in my family from dying.

My grandfather didn't even get a chance to go to the hospital. He just...died. He was standing at the counter of a drugstore, then had a heart-attack and dropped dead. But even if the hospital did get a chance to do their thing and bring him back, it would have killed him just to see his family crying for him. He was that kind of guy.

Well, at least he left fast. You wouldn't want him to suffer. It's unbearable.

Suffering is the worst.

I've always said, that I'm not afraid of death, I'm afraid of how I die. Being dead, I'm not too worried about. I just don't want to go in a scary, painful or horrific way.

Same here, butterfli. I wouldn't want to go slowly and painfully...

An action movie death might be preferrable. Not 'main character' death, 'cause that's always slow and painful. Just an innocent bystander, 'cause that's always quick because nobody cares about the innocent bystanders.

Like the time when I fell out of the tree last month. I almost starved to death because I didn't want any help, but also couldn't move... That's the annoying kind of guy I am. I don't want anybody to WORRY! I actually refused to go to the hospital when my appendix needed to be taken out...Mae kept saying, "Hawkins. You can't even stand up straight. Let me take you to the hospital." "NO! I'M FINE!" "Then stand up." "I don't wanna." "Because you're in pain." "No...I'm in excruciating pain. But it feels good when I do this." *presses tummy real hard* "You're going to the hospital." "NO!! I told you, it'll go away. I just need a couple boxes of tylenol."

Now that I look back on it (and take out the surgery part) it was kind of amusing.

Things always are amusing without the surgery part!!

Except for some sad cases where surgery WAS the amusing part, then taking it away would make things worse . . .

All I can imagine is you've been born with four arms, six eyes and your internal organs...aren't so internal, so during surgery to remove the extras and...stuff you with organs (xD I just imagined having an entire organ being shoved up my rear. That'd hurt.) and during surgery, they say "haha! looks like you're fine! you can go!" and then they all start line dancing in their funny hats and you get up and you look completely normal. But before surgery you're life was complete hell.

That would be amusing.
