So it started out with this snowed in animal sanctuary. I got in, but then all the kids from school came too. They started using it as their own sledding hill. So the owner of the place came and kicked them all out. The animals wanted me to stay, so I hid behind a snowbank. When the dream ended, I saw my brothers eating sandwiches in the dining room, and then Ty said "the only reason she stayed was 'cause she's 2/3 animal." (she being me.) So later, it continues. A turtle had managed to get itself lost in the boys bedroom (how they didn't catch it, I'll never know.) and just when I decided to go catch it for them, Ty goes "oh, here you go, Hawkins!" and chucks the turtle over the railing. I didn't see it, but I did hear its shell cracking open, and I knew it was dead. I started crying, and then woke up. The next night, Mae and I were looking out into the bay when we saw a humpback whale flipping its tailfin around (in water that's only like, 5 feet deep...)and Mae says "Hawkins, go make sure it's not beached or anything." so I go out onto a rock that's popped up out of nowhere, and look in the water. The whale's gone. Mae points out father, into deeper water, but not much, and says, "It's over there now." Then it's moved almost all the way across the bay. "I don't think it's beached," I say, but then some guy drags it out of the water by the tail, and kills it. The next night, it was really short. I was in a cabin, and a moose was pushed out a window and killed. I haven't had a dream since. Mae seems to think it has to do with my Native American heritage, but I don't see how heritage has anything to do with it...
The weirdest part of it all is that I was like, ten years younger in all of 'em. Maybe they're memories...and I just forgot. Yeah, that's it. I forgot about that time when there was a magic rock in the bay, and that humpback whale was swimming in five foot deep water, and a scrawny old guy dragged a full sized whale to his house and killed it. Yeah. That's it. I forgot. _________________
