Well, my baby is very sick. Sad He was bitten by a rattlesnake tonight on his face, I'm not exactly sure how many times. We aren't able to take him to a vet tonight as there isn't any open at this hour. I've looked up what to do and what to expect from snakebites all night so I can do everything possible to help him pull through.

I'm still very worried and I will be all through the night as rattlesnakes are very poisonous and Ookie is just a tiny dog. We're still hoping for the best and just your thoughts or prayers are much appreciated.

Both Pooch and Cracker have been bitten by rattlesnakes and made it through alive so we have hope that Ook will do the same.

He's very swollen at the moment and a tab bit irritable but he's up and about, moving around, following me like he always does.

Aw poor pupsy!

He sounds like he'll get better, though. Rattlesnake bites aren't really that harmful to dogs if they're pets and are treated quickly.

Also by 'treated' I literally mean giving them treats and hugs and fluffy pillows and what not.

We took him to the vet this morning and they said he looked pretty good. They gave us antibiotics and pain pills and I'm supposed to give him both once a day. He needs to eat and drink and if he does that he'll be absolutely fine. But if he doesn't eat or drink we need to take him into emergency pet care. Or if the bulging bag under his chin starts to decay.
Sad Which sounds horrible and extremely paiful.

He has been drinking though! Lots! And he only wants meat so we give him meat every now and then cause we want him to eat his dog food too. At the moment his odds are looking REALLY good.

Wait...only wants meat? But if he's drinking lots, then nevermind, I was thinking that sounds like rabies for some reason...but drinking means he's okay, and of course he'd have to be drooling, displaying manic or violent behavior...and I don't really think snakes can transmit rabies, because if you puncture a snake, you're going to do some damage to it's spine, and it'd probably die pretty quickly...too quick to transmit a disease, anyway.

ACK! MONOLOUGING AGAIN!

Thought I'd do a quick update! Ookie is perfectly fine! Even better than before because he is now spoiled, practically lives in the house, and sleeps next to me every night.

He pulled through and I hope this makes him weary of snakes.

Thanks for all the support guys! -loves everyone-
