Prior to picking up this gem, I had read only one of the two author's books. Terry Pratchett. Though it is a bid odd to go from a fantasy series to a book about the apocalypse, it is understandable for Terry Pratchett to write it.

The book is authored by two people: Terry Pratchett (as mentioned above) and Neil Gaiman. Terry Pratchett, as some of you may know, is famed for the Discworld series. Fantasy's answer to the sci-fi series The Hichhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Pratchett and the late great Adams have very similar writing styles. As mentioned above, though, I have not read anything about Neil Gaiman, but I do have a desire to now.

Good Omens is a story about an angel named Aziraphale, who has been described as both flamboyant (despite angels having gender or sexual preferences) and well versed in literature, and a demon named Crowley who is a (or so it seemed to me) slick dresser who always wears sunglasses. These two would seem like rivals, but they're actually pretty good friends and have been since before the dawn of times, despite being on different sides (Aziraphale is actually the angel with the flaming sword at the Garden of Eden and Crowley or "Crawly" as he was earlier known as, was the snake in Eden.) The two decide they like earth, specifically the 20th century and have banned together to stop the apocalypse from happening. One trick they try is that they try and make sure the Antichrist grows up a good little angel instead of a hell bringing demon. The only problem is that they misplace the child.

9/10--When I initially read the first half, I wasn't all that into it, but I reread it and the rest of the book and absolutely loved it.

Since you only biographied Pratchett, here is Neil Gaiman: Has write Coraline, a creepy children's story, Neverwhere, American Gods, Anansi Boys, and the brilliant Sandman comic books. He also has a very sexy voice. Death was one of the main characters in Sandman, like in some of the Discworld books.

I have not, however, actually read Good Omens yet, though it's on my list...

I love Discworld! I've read the entire Death series and a lot of the Guards! Guards! series, but that's not important this thread is about Good Omens, which I have, sadly, not read, even though I've bought it, I still plan to read it, but I haven't gotten around to it, just like about 20 other books...
