So, on Tuesday me and Shaye have to take an MCA writing test. Don't ask me what MCA stands for... all I can tell you is that it's a test given to every ninth grader in the state of Minnesota. Possibly the U.S. but I'm not sure.
Anyway, for our test, we will be given a writing topic, and then we will have to write a 5 paragraph essay on it. We will have 3 and a half hours to do it. Early in the morning. Now, I know Shaye is good at essays (for that fact I despise her), but I SUCK. Especially at the ones that the state decides is good for a ninth grader to do early in the morning with only 3 and a half hours to do it. And we won't know what we're writing about until the test on Tuesday morning.
So this is where you guys come in. I need some practice. Like, MAJOR. So I was wondering if you guys could think up some writing prompts that I could use to write essays on over the weekend. I know, I know, I must be crazy. Torturing myself, writing essays all weekend. But like I said, I SUCK.
Some examples that my teacher/the state has come up with:
-Describe a time when you have witnessed an injustice. What was the situation? What did you do? How did it make you feel?
-What is your favorite season?
-What is one thing in your life that you couldn't live with out?
Stuff like that. I find that it helps if I don't make up the topic, because I'll probably just do it on something that I know I can write a 5 paragraph essay on. But if you guys make it up, it would be helping me A TON! _________________ ~Michelle The Bee

I'll give you the crap topic I was given:
Do you think seniors should be role models for underclassmen? Why or why not? _________________ Remember, a velociraptor can run at 10 m/s (indoors) and it knows no fear. |

That one's not that bad.
I'm going to give you crappy ones, too, to train you for the topics in the Minnesota Comprehension Assessments.
In fifth grade, I remember getting one on what I can do to help the environment. So you could try that.
Do you have a hero? Who? Why?
What's your favorite food? Why?
Do things that seem to be really simple answers, then you have to elaborate. That's what I suck at. _________________ ~Shaye
