My parents were very selective about what they would read to me. My mum wouldn't even read me Harry Potter because the Dursleys were so mean to Harry so basically that's how I got into reading by having to read books because my parents wouldn't.

My mom read to be before I was even truly alive (while she was pregnant) so, that's cool I think.

My parents would read to me before I went to bed. I always fell asleep while they were reading...but, I liked it! Very Happy

My parents read to me a lot. And they read a lot themselves. It bugged me that they read so much when I was little, I wanted them to play with me!!! I wasn't really interested in reading for a while; my mother thought I would never read! Wink Which is kind of hilarious, considering how many books I read a day now... But in first grade or so, there was a kid reading Harry Potter by herself, and I was still reading "see spot run" stuff. Well, I've always been a bit of a competetive child, so that was it for me. I ended up being one of the better readers and spellers by the end of the year. heehee. Smile

Lol, well i am glad that you were so competitive so that we have such an avid reader and fabulous writer one the figment. I think she must have been planted there so that you would eventually end up here... that was the master plan!
