Ok, i have decided that we will have a short story book coming out next year as well, if we have enough to put in it!

So... I need you guys to submit some short prose to me, via email( figment_queen@yahoo.com.au ) or PM me!

Lets make it between 4000 and 20,000... You decide... Not all stories will be garunteed to make it in, but it would be lovely to have a proper selection!

This one might come out mid-year, but the competition will end on the 31st of December at 11:59:59 PM.

Good luck guys!

And PLEASE enter! We can't have a book if there are no stories for it... And you won't make it in if you don't submit it!

I hope to have time to write for this. Seeing as marching season is drawing to a close I should have time (if I'm not too busy working for the school newspaper or something...).

Any particular theme at all, or a free-for-all?

A theme would be cool... But what do you guys think would be a good theme? I mean i know that there are a lot more fantasy writers here, and there would be a good market for the book... But i also don't want to stop no-fantasy writers from entering...

Short stories for all genres, that way you have the best of all marketing worlds. Something for everybody

Yep, I'd agree with that one l2d.
Yes, like Figment said, a theme would be cool, but it will restrict certain authors here, and it would not sell to as wide a range of people. So yeah, a generic book I think; for the time being at least.

And of course, it will need to be 'g-rated'; or at the very least 'pg-rated' I'd say.

oh no, I'm terrible at writing fanatasy!

I have a short story I'm writing right now as part of one of my courses and another one planned, but they're def not fantasy. They're psychological thrillers.

I say keep it open now, and as more stories come in see what we think. Or at the very least wait until NaNo is over.

Then write a psychological thriller Wink
I doubt we will limit it to just fantasy, but we can have all genres Very Happy

Ditto what DarkWaltz said (nothing 'til December) and I don't consider myself much of a short story writer anyway...

I dunno...I really don't like having to work with copyrights and such; I mean, I want to contribute, but all the legal stuff freaks me out. That and publicity has always scared the living crap out of me.
