I KNOW.

/I/ think it was solely because the directors of the movie wanted to force in a love interest, but J.K. Rowling didn't want one, so she made him gay?...I mean, think about it...your book is being made into a movie, the one you slaved for hours on end to write, and then the directors want to add in a piece about one of your main characters that you don't want, wouldn't you just say "oh no; you can't, he's gay." I'm not saying you'd say that as a counter; I'm saying you'd say it as a "I wasn't really planning on him to be gay; but it's okay if he is. So, yeah, he is."
