Hilter was a good person... from his point of view. Gandhi was a very bad person... from the point of view of the king of England.

Erm.

Hello, GD!

Hitler wasn't a good person. He probably had something good in him though.

It's all perspective have you learned nothing from my argument?
Good is all perspective. Sure there may be a higher moral code, but we as humans cannot know it. We may think we do, maybe we do know it, but we can never truly be sure. So we must judge morality from humanity's moral views. However humanity's moral view differ from person to person. Thinking like this you surely can see that Hitler was the best man to ever live, from the perspective of a Nazi of course.

Also my political views (to be somewhat on topic) is that I really just don't like any of the candidates. They're are a bunch of lying spineless politicians (excuse my repetition). If you really want, I can go on a giant rant about politics and my personal views.

Take the Crusades. Thousands of people slaughtered thousands of other people so that the Pope could say he owned Jerusalem. Was that right or wrong? Some people will say that it was right, the holy land needed to be taken from the heathens; others will say that is was wrong, the slaughter of thousands is never right. Who is correct? That depends on your point of view. I personally find what Hitler did despicable, but there are people who think he was a saint. From my point of view they're wrong, from their point of view I'm wrong.

I however like trying to achieve the impossible and change people minds. Sometimes I succeed. I walk away from those moments with a good feeling inside. You're "I've given up on politics" post is an interesting corollary to my argument too.

Yeah. I used to be able to change people.

Then I realized that ignorance was spreading too fast for me to be able to influence it at all.

If I can affect the people around me, at least my town won't piss me off too much.

Hey, I managed to convince nine people to vote for Amy Klobuchar.

That's pretty cool, eh? I convinced nine people to vote for the first woman senator in minnesota.
