Gathering of the Figments

The concept is simple. Write a short story, 10,000 words max (there is no minimum) on any subject, set in any time period, fictional or non-fictional, or whatever... so basically a 10,000 word max short story about anything. It will be judged by myself, Figment and Latona. Pre-writes are accepted- not like we can tell anyway, lol- but for those who are going to write theirs from scratch, entries will close on the 6th of October, which gives you two months.

Make sure you write your user name somewhere at the start of your piece. If the story's a bit wierd and you want to explain a bit of it or something, I'll also accept a 500 word max explanation in addition to the 10,000 words.

There are three places available, but special mentions may be made.

Send your complete entries to "figment_admin@hotmail.com" (remove quotation marks, and there is an underscore between 'figment' and 'admin'). As Figment says below, make sure you specify which competition the story is for, in case we end up with more than one running at the same time. Just type your forum user name and the name of the comp as the subject of your email and also have them at the start of your email. Any other details are optional.

Once judging is complete the placed entries will be posted up, and highlights from 'special mentions' pieces will also be posted.

As yet, no prizes have been decided. So don't expect a prize and you won't be disappointed Razz

ok, i set up the figment_admin@hotmail.com email addy for competitions and queries, so i guess send them there rather than to wightblack's email... in your subject heading, or at the start of the email, please note the fact that it is for this competition, in case we get have a few going at the same time...
Thats about it i think...
what do you reckon Snoogums of Chaos? Shall we say that they can enter as often as they want... but only one story per person can take a place on the podium... so you mauy have more chance of winning, but at the same time may not find out the true potential of your other stories...

Snoogums of Chaos... at least it's of Chaos, lol. I thought only one entry per person but if people are fanatic enough to actually write more than one completed 10,000 word story in two months hey, go ahead and enter them all, lol.
