I love this movie, and when I was called a rebel earlier this day, I was reminded of this film and how much I love it. The movie really is good. I kept laughing through it, and the wonderful breaking down of the stereotypes was a really good point. It's one of those classics, so if you're really cheap you can always look for it on YouTube, or you can be like me and support your local video store and rent it. _________________ Remember, a velociraptor can run at 10 m/s (indoors) and it knows no fear. |

It's a hilarious movie no doubt. I think just about anyone can feel a connection to one of the characters because of all of the different stereotypes they portray in the movie. I know i felt like i shared alot of the same problems with Emilio Estevez's character Andrew Clark. Well, aside from taping some kid's but cheeks together. That was definitley a rofl moment when i first heard what he did, it's such a random thing. Although the scene he said it in was pretty serious. _________________

I connected more with Brian, but I think Allison was my favourite cause she was just hilarious at times, not to mention the fact that I like people who are a little... out of touch. _________________ Remember, a velociraptor can run at 10 m/s (indoors) and it knows no fear. |

Yea she was hilarious, her complete randomness made some of the scenes that much more funny. Like when they were all eating their lunch and she made THAT insane sandwich. I might by myself in saying this, but I thought she was much more attractive before Claire made her all up. I thought that was kind of weird though. I know she was trying to impress Andrew, but I thought the whole movie was about being proud of who you are. I know she was kind of a screw up/misfit before, but it seems out of character that she would change her ways for a guy. Could someone explain this to me, or am I just over analyzing? It's been a while since I last saw it, so I might be forgetting something. _________________

So I'm not the only one!
Well we could look at the message of the movie. Basically the whole movie is about destroying stereotypes, so maybe what John Hughes was trying to show with the whole make-up thing was the undermining of these stereotypes. But taking the misfit and giving her some characteristics of a popular girl they destroy the class boundaries... or Allison just becomes a popular girl. I didn't really like that part too much, but it still worked.

I love her Corn Pops and Pixie Stix sandwich.
