Ok,
I know how much fbi and butterflii are stressing about all the waiting to find out the winners of the Cryptic Poetry competition... So... Something else to take their minds off of it!
There are so many terrible things happening in the world at the moment... You know, bridges collapsing, people dying/getting killed... It's just so darn upsetting!
So I want you to write a poem about something happy!
It could be something small, something that just makes you smile, or it could be about some small miracle that makes you want to keep striving... something that helps you, and others, to see the good things in the world.
Now in your poems you can mention the bad things too... Like as a comparison or something... But it can't be only about all the bad things... And the more upbeat or meaningful the poem is over all, the more bonus points you will get!
You can PM me your entries... Or you can email them to figment_queen@yahoo.com.au...
Either way, please include the competition title in your PM/email heading!
This starts NOW (4th of August) and will go for one month... Finishing on the 4th of September at 11:59:59pm according to the forum...
Good Luck guys!
And have fun!
And as usual, just post any questions in this thread... And you can enter as many times as you want!

I'm not much of a poet, but I've feld kind of inspired after reading some of the poems here. I think I'm going to try this competition, especially since we have a month to do it, which is probably how long it will take for me to write a decent poem.
But I was wondering, could the poem involve overcoming something sad, such as an experience, to ultimately feel good and the all the other rewards that come from rising above our failures? If that makes sense? _________________

Absolutely!
As i said, if you can use the bad situations to compare, and that would work really well because we would see the before and the after.
For example, if you were to mention the stuff that is going on in the world, with the deaths and stuff, or even something bad within your own personal world, and then something were to make it seem worthwhile or something... Like... For example... A baby being born... And when that little kid grabs your finger, you can't help but smile... You know... Vague example, but do you get what i mean? _________________

Just picture the things happening in your head like a movie... And, of course, have Nicole as the lead!
I am not sure yet as to how we would work copyrights and if we will be allowed to have poems about movies in the book or not... So the more original poems you write, the better! And if it turns out that we CAN... Then all the better! _________________

Horatio makes me happy. 'Cause he acts like he's James Bond.
(quoting Shaye's quoting CSI...)
"That's one cold killer."
"Yes...cold as ice."
*whips out shades, puts them on and walks away like James Bond*
xD xD xD that's too funny...and I almost wrote 'shapes' instead of 'shades'. xD xD xD _________________

Most of my movie poems don't actually have to be about the movie. I don't put anything in them that would cause copyright problems I don't think. My first MR one maybe, but the rest could be about anyone. _________________ ...:::Life is a balance of holding on and letting go:::...
