Key came home with a nasty looking vole the other day. I figured, "eh, just a cat thing." Then she drooled on me. Not much, but enough to scare the Sh*t out of me. I was entirely sure she had rabies, but I couldn't reach a vet to take her to. My grandma reassured me though, "she's not been bitten, rabies, meaning 'rage' in latin, is called 'rabies' for a reason. She hasn't increased in anger, if anything, she's more lax than ever. Don't take her to the vet, you'll just be wasting your time."
I'm almost 100% sure she hasn't got it now, but I got sick from eating bad broccoli bites at a greasy diner in Pembroke, and I was like, "OMG. Isn't one of the signs of rabies LACK OF APPETITE?!" But Mae ate there too and has been feeling extra crappy also, (and she ate the broccoli) so we figure the broccoli's killed us.
What really spazzed me out was the fact that when any animal (humans especially) contracts rabies, it's a death sentence. Unless you get the vaccine quick enough, it can choke it out. Glad I know that now, after I had a very painful ordeal not too long ago with rabies...I was like, "oh, it's not that bad." I researched the other day and was like, "I COULD'VE DIED?!" _________________

It's okay you have 24 hours to get the vaccine. It's a shot in the shoulder (I can't remember how many, might just be one), and there have been reported survivors. Give Key water, if Key runs away, go to hospital, if Key doesn't chances are you're good. Hydrophobia occurs before the drooling. Besides symptoms take at least a week to appear, so unless that scar happened awhile ago, it shouldn't be anything too dangerous. _________________ Remember, a velociraptor can run at 10 m/s (indoors) and it knows no fear. |

Hydrophobia? You mean water? We can't get her out of the shower. And it's been about two weeks, so I think I'm fine. And her.
Though I kept her in a kitty box for about a week because I was so terrified she was going to kill us all.
But she doesn't have a scar on her, that's why we figure she's safe. _________________

Yea, if she can stand water, you're safe. _________________ Remember, a velociraptor can run at 10 m/s (indoors) and it knows no fear. |

*melts into a little puddle*
I'm so relieved. I mean, she doesn't drink out of her water bowl, she hasn't since she was a kitten, she always preferred to wait until someone got out of the shower and drink out of it. That's why she likes it when I take her to an actual building where we bathe ourselves. Pah! I wash myself and all the animals in the lake. First the kitty, (she likes to swim now, she's gotten used to it over all these years) and then she licks herself dry, then Duke, then Mouse, (except once he tried to drown himself by jumping off the little float I had him on the wash him in, and he wouldn't come back...and then Simba. He likes it when I wash his tail so he can wave it in my face when I'm trying to sleep. See, we have a little system. I sleep on the couch, Key sleeps on my chest, Duke sleeps on my tummy, and Simba sleeps on top of Mouse's cage, and that way his tail droops RIIIIGHT in my face. _________________

Ayah. Now I have to take her to a wedding.
A CAT AT A WEDDING IS SUPPOSED TO BE BACK LUCK!
I think if she sneezes three times, that means a happy marriage, but if she sneezes once, there'll be an early divorce...one sec, lemme go get her book...
Okay, one sneeze means a happy marriage, but three sneezes means colds all around. Black cats are considered unlucky in American folklore, but lucky in England. In Elizibathen times, tabbies were unlucky because of that play Macbeth. And Welsh tradition says you ought to have a black and a white one to be extra lucky. So I have no idea. _________________

I'm actually working on a story about cats and 'their powers to fluxuate luck', as of 20 minutes ago. _________________
