Indie power! So recently (ie just this past hour) I started listening to Final Fantasy, no not the video game, the band. They, or rather he, is really amazing. It's rock, but it's basically all strings, sometimes there's some drums, but that's all. It makes for an amazing sound. And because I'm amazing, here's a link to one of his videos:

Another amazing band is The Dresden Dolls. Although I must warn you Amanda has no problem with cussing. But if you don't mind, or if you ignore the lyrics, the Dresden Dolls are amazing. They're a duo of a pianist and a drummer. Not a very typical combonation, but a very good one. I'll link you to one of the less... controversial videos:

PlayRadioPlay! is another great one-man band. But much harder to describe, in fact he's so musically diverse it might be impossible to describe. Well here's a link to one of his songs:

And finally for a complete change of pace, Royal Crown Revue. These guys are a more common sound, but they're not something you find very often. Royal Crown Revue was the band that started it all, that's right they started the swing revival. They play big band swing, some songs are original, some are older songs with slight changes, but they're all amazing. Some of you might have heard them and not known it. During the famous dance scene from The Mask, the band playing is Royal Crown Revue, and the song is Hey Pachuco! And of course I'll link you to a video:

I could take the bait and rant for hours about these bands, or I could simply tell you that you can find more of their songs on YouTube.
