DAVID EGGER HAS WRITTEN A RATHER INTERESTING AND RANDOM BOOK OF RATHER GOOD AND RATHER ODD SHORT STORIES
its called HOW WE ARE HUNGRY
and has been published by penguin...
Read it so we can talk about it.
The other book i urge you to read is Cloud Street. By TIM WINTON.
These must be read in at least 5 weeks. When they have been read comment here to say uve read them and we can set up a rapid comment session here or a figgi chat to talk about the books. After this has happened we shall take it in turns to choose the two books for each time we do this.
HAPPY READING!

Ray of sunlight struggles feebly down between the houses tall,
And the foetid air and gritty of the dusty, dirty, city,
Through the open window floating, spreads its foulness over all.
Extract from Clancy and the Overflow, by A.B. Patterson.
Ironically he never actually went outside of a city his entire life, let alone Droving. phht. Henry Lawson was much more acurate, he didnt romanticise the Aussie bush. |
