We have music and films, but what about books?
What books inspire you to write?
For me the great inspirers are:
Lord of the Rings
Eragon
Artefacts of Power
His Dark Materials _________________ It does not do to leave a live dragon out of your calculations, if you live near him.

and why...
The Blue Sword / Robin McKinley. My first true fantasy. A lovely dream. I want to write because I want to recapture the awe I felt, and the depth of the world she created.
Twilight / Stephenie Meyer. Not so much the book itself as the author and the fact that she had never written a novel before Twilight and became famous almost instantly. It is a once in a million chance, but this reminds me that it is possible. _________________ Altogether Too Unsophisticated To Deserve a Proper Postscript

I'd have to say that Dragon Rider inspired me to write fantasies...that and Harry Potter. Occasionally I'll have to think back to those Baby Sitters Club books, just because some of those had some decent plots, and sometimes I'll take a name or a thread from those. For the longest time, I was using someone elses writing style without even realizing it. Like, I'd be writing, and then I'd take a book off the shelf and say, "well, it doesn't SOUND like this one." I dunno, I wasn't actually stealing her style, only a bit...
Btw, my brother was watching that 'Boromir's Plan', and he laughed until his cried. _________________

I dunno why, but I was strangely inspired by The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
The Tale of Desparaux
The Power of UN
Kira Kira (what a tearjerker!)
The Giver (" ") _________________ Q: You're on an airplane and you drop your wedding ring out the window. How many pancakes can you stack on top of the Empire State building?

I watched the Neverending Story (the movie, and if they made a new one, I saw the older one) at Mae's over Easter...apparently I watched it ALL THE TIME when I was younger. I don't remember it at all. _________________

Is that the one with the horse that dies in the muddy thing. The depressing dirt or something. And that little boy called Bastian or something . . . I never read the book . . . watched the film countless times though. _________________ Spider, Spider, on the wall.

Yeah, the horse dies, and there's this stuff called 'the nothing'. It just takes stuff away. It's just gone. And the kids name is Atrayu I think. _________________

I was wondering that...and he kept talking about 'gourmet rocks'.
"Yeah, nobody gives a hoot about my giant bat!"
That was probably the funniest line in the movie. xD _________________
