All I have to say about this series is WOW. Definitley the best book series I have ever read, hands down. It's a mature fantasy tale that can definitley rival Lord of the Rings. It's three books long, starting off with The Dragonbone Chair, and ending with To Green Angel Tower(Green angel tower is so long that you can buy it in two separate parts, which is what i did). Without giving away most of the plot, the book starts off with a 14 year old boy named Simon who is a scullion in the king's palace. For the time being, humans are at peace with the mythical creatures of the land, thanks to the help of their benevolent king. But after his death, his much less kind son takes control of the throne. Basically things go downhill fast, evil forces take control of the land, and Simon is forced to leave the castle, in the process getting caught up in an amazing adventure that is leagues above his head. From colossal battlefields, to the tranquil homes of the elf-like creatures. What i love about the books is the immense character development. In the beginning Simon is a confused adolescent, but by the end of the series he is a fully grown man that finally understands the world he lives in. Really, read these books, they are amazing.

DO IT!

With your football playing Ben-Hur man avatar, you'll fit right in here. Like fbi_womans siamese triplets that weren't actually triplets, though I thought they were, 'cause it said 'UNITED', and--

I'm just going to walk off now.

I actually wasn't that impressed with this series. I really liked them a lot, but I thought it was a little overused plot wise. And he draws them out. They were good, but not the best I've ever read. What really annoys me is that he is writing the exact same series again now with his new series, Shadowmarch. And I'm talking almost identical. Ok, so the Qar are much more inclined to kill humans than the Sithi were, but it's still the same story. Even the languages of the people are very similar! It really annoys me when an author writes the same book twice.

Don't not go read them now I said all that, though. I liked them. I just didn't think they were the best thing in the world, though I think that's partly because I read Shadowmarch and got pissed that he's writing the same series again.
