Today, my sister called to tell me that the hardrive crashed on my computer which she was using. My sister doesn't deserve to have a computer, because they hate her. Every computer she's ever used has broke.

But anyway - All my files are gone. All my poems that I didn't post here. All my photos. Even my novel which I was planning to tell you guys about at a later time, but seeing as there isn't one anymore - there's really no point.

The only way my files would still be there is if the Mac saved them before the computer completely crashed - which would be amazingly awesome.

(By the way, I don't want any "Macs suck" comments here, okay? Every computer can crash, and it just so happens mine did. So don't be stupid.)

Oh no, Shaye!!!!!!!!!!! *cries* I'm so sorry! That happened to me a while ago, but luckily I didn't have something as big as a novel on it at the time! Oh, honey, this has not been a great few weeks, huh? *huggles* Bad Shaye's Computer! (Does your computer have a name, by the way? Mine does, it's named Sir Percy, but maybe I'm the only one strange enough to name my computer. Actually, I know marianas named hers too). Breaking is not allowed! *shakes finger at computer*

Completely wiped? As in no OS? Cause if the OS is there, there's a chance of recovery. (Okay, at least for Windows, but I imagine that Apple is not stupid enough to get rid of recovery.)
(Also I name my computer. My old one was called Maeleri... and Count Dastardly... and Jerrur. It changed every LAN party. This one has just been Jerrur.)

Anyway: NO! When you were talking about Kelsey breaking your computer in gym today I thought you meant when she dropped it... Or was that you?
Anyway, I think you should put your foot down to letter her steal your stuff. It's not cool when stuff (important stuff, I might add) starts to get broken. Like, I used to steal my sister's lip gloss all the time, but once I left one of the tubes in my pants (ruined a load of laundry and the lip gloss was nowhere to be found), I had to stop. If I did it again I would be grounded. Which I was, but after that I stuck to only stealing her stuff in her room. As in, I'd use it, but keep it in her room. Very Happy

And I'm sorry. I sort of know how you feel... I prefer to right in notebooks so that crashing and disappearing doesn't happen to me, but then I loose the notebook that I'm writing it in...

I know. Kelsey's unbelievable when it comes to stealing things. She steals my clothes and things all the time and when I wore her socks once she freaked out.
I had to lend her the Mac though, because it was hers, afterall, and she's in college - she needs it more than me.
I'm really, really mad, but I'm more sad than I am mad. I mean, after I worked really, really hard on all of those things it's really hard to believe it's all gone.
I would write in notebooks, but I'd be erasing everything all the time. That's the kind of writer I am - I write things that sound stupid, go back and fix them, then I realize I don't even want them anyway so I just get rid of them. Computers are the best way to avoid carpal tunnel for me.

You still didn't answer my question. Do you still have an OS (Operating System)? Read: Get yo bunghole to the chat room so I can see what I can do.
(LAN Party, basically a bunch of nerds get together drink caffine, play video games, and talk. This differs from our normal status cause we're in the same location, which speeds up our connection.)

I hope you can save it, GD! If you do, I'll call you Superman. Or whatever you want me to call you. I draw the line at inappropriate or something that is stupid or against most (or rather, my) morals. So make it something good.

I really hope you can save your files!!

Speaking of which, I was going to buy a backup harddrive but haven't gotten around to it -- because I'm broke... :'( I should do that. My files are important and I would die if I lost them!!
