As you may have been able to tell from my current signature, I am highly impressed with the movie, "The Fountain". It's a beautiful visual experience that tells three stories - each of a lone man (played by Hugh Jackman in each case) trying to find something. It occurs over three seperate timelines. One is of a man loyal to his queen, in the time of the Spanish Inquisition, who is questing to find the tree of life. Another is a scientest in the modern day, desperately trying to find the cure for his wife's cancer. The third is the surreal image of a man in an enclosed bauble, holding tight a dying tree, on his way to a nebula that encases a dying star.

The three stories become interwoven as the movie continues, by way of gorgeous visual ties and compelling plot changes. Although the surreal style of the movie may leave you a little lost if you're more into massive action of straightforward plots, the sheer beauty of the film is something that you should regret to miss. It's certainly gone to the top of my list, of all the movies I've seen.

Please watch "The Fountain". You won't be left disappointed.

I like action movies with no plot. JUST SHEER BLOW YOUR HEAD OFF ACTION!

Is it anything like The Butterfly Effect?

Well it's certainly not:

As much as The Butterfly Effect is quite surreal, I wouldn't really make that comparison. The Butterfly Effect is still a Realist film in that it concentrates on one person's (albeit, fragmentated) timeline and their reactions. It's also a lot harder in it's content (dealing with multiple deaths and rape and lots of lovely things like that). In contrast, The Fountain is intended really as a pure visual experience. It's like the Soaring over California ride at California Adventure (which is a highly advanced flight simulator for those that haven't been) - You get sucked up into the beauty of the images and narrative much more than you follow a plot by trying to piece things together. I think that it rewards you a great deal more by letting you just sit back and immerse yourself within it.

I hope that gave some clarification Razz I don't know it it did.
