Ok, the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind has got to be one of the very best serieses(!!!???) in all time. They are AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The first one is called Wizard's First Rule. Unfortunately, Goodkind doesn't seem to have an editor, since there seems to be at LEAST one typo per page, but the stories are good enough I can deal.
Someone who's read them come talk to me!!! If you haven't read them, go do so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EDIT: OMG!!! I'm a PEN PUSHER!!! SQUEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! _________________

I haven't read this, but did this come before or after Shannara?

So did Terry Brooks...
Notice the similarities between Shannara and Lord of the Rings.
Evil black cloaked things that instill fear
Here comes from unlikely, sleepy village
Lone ranger acts as a guide
Land put under darkness
Single city vainly tries to defend the land
The list goes on
But this isn't about that... _________________ It does not do to leave a live dragon out of your calculations, if you live near him.

Don't get me started on similar to Tolkien. Eragon and Harry Potter do it too. Dementors=ringwraiths, etc. And Eragon. *sigh* Eragon... Aragorn. Arya... Arwen... Brom and Gandalf... Dwarves... Beowulf references... But I still like them. _________________

When I saw a copy of Eragon somewhere, I thought to myself, "oh, Tokein wrote a whole book about Aragorn? Wait, I thought there was an 'A' in it instead of an 'E'. Wow, was I off." _________________

You have no idea how many people have said the same thing to me. It kind of proves my point. _________________

Well first to Eragon, I actually heard that was a rip off of Star Wars. Dragonriders=jedi, other stuff. I never really read that book...
As to Sword of Truth, don't get me started.
I absolutely LOVE THAT SERIES!!!! I've only found one series that I like better than that. I read eight of the books in about a month, then I ran out of steam at Chainfire, that book isn't nearly as good as the others, but it's still good. I still have yet to finish that book though... _________________ Remember, a velociraptor can run at 10 m/s (indoors) and it knows no fear. |

I haven't read anything by Terry Goodkind... But i have heard TERRIBLE things about it... Lol.
Please... Let me explain... My boyfriend's mum was a member of this book club, and they kept sending editor's choice books, which were usually by Terry Goodkind. And he developed a hate for the books... So yeah... I need you guys to explain what is so fabulous about it, and why i should read it! _________________

Personally I just love the contrast between one thing that I can't say because it would give too much away and another thing I can't say for the same reasons... DAMN IT. Of course the books can seem to drag on sometimes... The second book almost killed me. _________________ Remember, a velociraptor can run at 10 m/s (indoors) and it knows no fear. |

How can you not have liked Chainfire, Grey Dawn? Actually, I kind of get it, it dragged a bit. But it was still amazing!!! Nicci is my hero... Not as much as Richard of course, but she's amazing. I hated the whole thing with Cara playing with his love life though. Even though she was just trying to help. Anyways, I'll shut up now so I don't give anything away. _________________

I didn't get very far. I blame it on the fact that I read the previous eight in less than a month. _________________ Remember, a velociraptor can run at 10 m/s (indoors) and it knows no fear. |

Dark Waltz- Richard and Kahlan have got to be the greatest couple. I am on Phantom right now and I had to stop because my heart is breaking!
I can't believe the last book is coming out this month. I'm so sad, it's HP all over again. I need chocolate to get me through this... emotional time of my life. _________________ Jenn |

Mari, once you start Wizards First Rule, you will not stop. You just fly through the book, and when you finish you want to go back on the wild ride. _________________ Jenn |
