One of Australia's most promising actors was found dead in his New York Apartment. Though original suspicions included suicide, this is unlikely. What does seem to be the case is an accidental overdose of sleeping pills, a brand that has been unreliable in the past, and has caused adverse affects in some people.
Heath Ledger will be missed, for he was not only a great actor, but a great man too.
His final film, The Dark Knight, will be released later this year.

Rest In Peace.

I heard about that. I actually respected him; he wasn't out there flaunting himself like Paris Hilton or Tom Cruise or something. He had a lot to live for; doesn't he have a wife and child?

Although Brokeback Mountain was disturbing. -_-' But I don't hate him just because he was in a boring movie, he was still a good guy. I think; I never really knew about him...'cause he didn't flaunt. Very good.

Aw man I heard about that like an hour after it happened.

He was a great actor.

Australia has quite a few good actors, but Heath was one of my favorites.

Damn...I loved his acting. And I for one actually liked Brokeback Mountain...thought it was quite entertaining...but besides that, I believe he had a daughter, did he not? Yes, may he rest in peace.

Gay cowboys aside, I still didn't like it. I mean; I didn't hate it solely because it was about two dudes, it was really cheesy and sappy and whatnot...but I didn't know he was from Australia. All my favorite actors are from Australia. Granted, that's only like, two and half, but still...

You have a lot to learn. -_-'

There was a news story this afternoon about how he died...but I missed it. Instead I watched the one about the double homicide in Machias, Maine.

Wasn't there something in the news that they were wondering why the guy's massage person (I'm not even going to attempt to spell the right word for that) called Mary-Kate Olsen, like, twice before calling the ambulance? I think it was something like that.

I also liked Heath Ledger quite a bit as well, putting aside his role in Brokeback Mountain. (which my dad would disown me if I ever watched)

I'm just not quite sure his death was an accident. Did anyone else notice that he started to go downhill slightly about a year ago? He was a very nice looking man but just recently he began to look old and haggard like there was something going on underneath?

I mean during interviews he seemed so ancy and his hands were always moving.

I just think something happened in the last year that wasn't quite right with him, had there been any greater indication of the problem there might have been a way to stop what was happening to him.

But this is just my opinion, I know a lot of people don't want to believe that such a brilliant man would commit suicide but can we really understand what he was going through at the time?

R.I.P. Heather Ledger, he'll be missed. <3

Yes, there was something going on. Insomnia. Since filming of Dark Knight, and a bit before that even, he had been suffering from terrible insomnia, hence the sleeping pills. Plus he had been suffering from pnuemonia (spelling?) recently. This is all that was wrong with him before his death, nothing that could lead to suicide.

Shaye, you'll hate this, but where I come from, if you admit you like Brokeback Mountain, you will be kicked out of town. We were living in the 30's, see, and we demanded all these 'oldy morals'--i.e., you have to have a work ethic, you have to believe in some form of higher power, you can't be gay, etc.

Everytime somebody mentions 'Dark Knight', I keep thinking Kight Rider...which they're remaking, by the way. KIT is a Ford mustang now. D:

Hawkins............I hate where you live.

BUT NOT YOU! *hugs*

And I shall be going to see the Dark Knight when it comes out! The minute it comes out!
