Ok guys, as i am sure that you have read... we are going to be having a book!
A collection of poems by the figments, and at a later date, a collection of short stories by the figments, but to the now!
As i am going to be getting it done through a Publish On Demand place... we need to have our own cover done(or i will need to pay couple of hundred to get it done by some "professional") But i love you guys, and you are professional!
So we are going to have a book that is written by the figments, named by the figments and DESIGNED by the figments, for the figments!
So basically it will have to be big enough to fit a book cover... I think it will be one of those half A4 sized books, which means that the design would be landscape A4... I am not sure about pixel sizes or whatever, sorry guys!
It could be a painting, a sketch, a collage of images... ANYTHING that you want and that you would like to see on the cover (also what might make people outside of our "circle" take notice...
The entries will need to be emailed to figment_queen@yahoo.com.au or i guess you could PM me the link for your photo bucket or whatever...
This competition will end on 1st December at 11:59:59pm, as the website dictates...
Good luck guys!
I will be very upset and disappointed, and stuff... if we get no entries, or only a small amount...
Go wild with those brushes(computers, pencils)! You can enter as many times as you want!
**Update** Winner gets a free copy of the book that they are doing the cover for!
Do us proud guys!
Figgy. _________________

ooooo I will definitely enter! it would be a lot easier if I knew the poems in it though lol. I feel like I already saw it in the other topic, but do we have a name for this so I can start playing around with it? also, do we want flashy, or sleek and simple, or maybe both options for now? _________________ ...:::Life is a balance of holding on and letting go:::...

I think both would be good... I am thinking that we will have the Judge's choice, and then the people's choice... And see how it all goes from there...
I personally would love to see different styles, variations, all that jazz...
Don't have any clue as to the name yet...
Maybe i shall make the other comp end sooner... So that you have a name to play with? _________________

Did you get my PM, Figment? For the title of the book?
I was gonna suggest a collage of all our avatars, but we could run into copyright infringements, what with the images not being used with permission, and bandwidth theft...
So nix that idea. _________________

Oh. Turns out it saves it in my 'sentbox'. Didn't know I had that.
OKAY OKAY OKAY I GOT A GOOD ONE.
God, I can't help but get sidetracked...HANG ON LET ME RUN THIS BY YOU.
Alright, you know how people are always saying like, "oh, here's a good place to get things published for young writers and whatnot?" Well can you imagine this--"oh, go to gatheringofthef.netfreehost.com, they publish a book of poetry every year, and the staff is very kind. Just beware the resident hobo." OH MY GOD HOW FRICKIN' AWESOME WOULD THAT BE?! I also can't stop thinking about the time I told my pastor that during the second coming Jesus would show up in Snowflake, Florida. Only because it was the most random and unexpected city I could think of.
Back to titles...
Figment Glories?...I wanna somehow work 'Figment' and 'Glory' into the title...and thus, that's what I came up with...
Figment of a Figment: A Year in Review...something like that, 'cause 'figment of a figment' is the first thing you start out as, and 'a year in review', well, obviously...
Coconut Rice and other Random Poems...assuming AAI wants to contribute.
Or every year the name could change. It would have one or two milestone moments in the poem part of the site, and then always end with "Figments Poem Yearbook--2007". I dunno, you're asking a guy who lives in her truck.
I want some noodles right about now...
PAHAHA! Mine rule. _________________

Can we perhaps keep title discussion in the title topic?
And the Authors will be people from here... so just look around you! _________________

I was thinking for the cover art, if it was covered in objects that could represent us. That way we would get a huge rnaodm variety on the cover . . . so say, Hawkins could be a piece of cheese (only an idea Hawky ) Me, a butterfly, AAI a bowl of coconut rice (?) and so on and so forth, Figgy, maybe a Mouse on a tounge (oj)
So yeah, but of course we'd have to confirm what everyone wanted to be, and have to make sure we included everyone that has a poem in the book.
Another idea, was the cover to look like a piece of parchment, all old and brown, with the title e.g Figments of your Imagination written in black, old-style caligraphy. =]

That'd be frickin' sweet. (C) Napoleon Dynamite
OOH BETTER IDEA. We get like a piece of old brown bag and tea-stain it (it works real well...trust me.) and get uncopyrighted stock crap photos. Like, tear them out of National Geographic magazines and tape them to it. It'd look real good. I'd want my picture to be a hawk. Or a wrestler. xD Well, you know, HAWKins, BUTTERFLI could be a butterfli, Figgy could be...the Figy berry I gave her, and Pommie could be...a pommigranite?... _________________

I can do teastained with calligraphy, I already have some calligraphic fonts and could get more, and I can prolly find a pic on google I could use as the teastain background. Anything on google images is free game lol. _________________ ...:::Life is a balance of holding on and letting go:::...

lol. that reminds me of that story, when the days of the week disobeyed their mother and went to the witches place. Tuesday got made into ham and Wednesday dot turned into a bowl of something.
And the mother saved them by tricking the witch, who would only let her in if she cut off her legs. _________________ I am sitting in my dingy little office, where a stingy
