Ok guys, you read it right!
I have decided that i am going to get a book full of poems, by you guys, published!
I am going to use a Publish On Demand company... But it will be available world wide, and you will all be able to see your poems in print, like in an ACTUAL BOOK! (And the best part about that is that you can tell all of your friends and family to go buy a copy!)
So for the rest of the year we will have a few extra competitions... And we(myself and the other mods... and you guys too if you want!) will be keeping an eye on the poems that are posted here, and what ones we would specifically like to see in the book!
This is a venture that i hope to make an annual thing... But we shall have to wait and see how the first edition goes before i guarantee anything!
And of course, if it does go well... I will most likely bring in a short story collection the next year as well!
What will happen, is the book will be published at the start of 2008 with poems possibly right up to the end of this year...
Of course no poems would be published in the book, without the Author's permission...
The Deal that i am looking at with the POD guys, includes copyrighting and everything, and a website with excerpts, bios of the authors, and the book cover.
It also gives us ad space in the New York Times and other publications, and notifies Borders.com, Amazon.com and lots of other bookshops...
And with this package we get bookmarks, posters, and post cards!
Anyway, those are just some of the things that the package includes... It looks really good!
And at this stage, i am thinking that profits(if there are any!) will go towards things for the forum, and maybe also for the following editions of the books...
OK, so keep your eyes out for the competitions that we will be running for the pre-production of the book!
*Squeals with excitement*

Another future prospect is also to have (either in a separate book, or in the same book), a short story part too.
Of course, this is a brilliant step the Figments are taking, and a very good opportunity for any poets we have here. This can also only increase this sites popularity.
All in all, a grand opportunity that I would seriously urge everyone to go for (I think even I might try and force some poetry out ) _________________ It does not do to leave a live dragon out of your calculations, if you live near him.

I think that we should get as many brilliant poems by the people here into that book as we can! (Oh My Gosh... did that make sense?!)
I think it would be really cool to have a copy of a book with my poems in it, that i could give to a family member... And you would be able to see the book that has your work in it, online!
(I am REALLY not making sense this afternoon...) _________________

Yay for Figgy! It sounds like an awesome idea Fig, but will it cost lots to get it done and if so are we going to help pitch in money to help the book get published through the POD company? I really would love to see all these amazingly talented Figments having their work published, so I'm EXCITED!!! _________________

Ah, I'd love to, but I'm not the kind of person that wants the world going "OMG. She lives in a truck?!"
For some reason, people either don't believe you or they feel terrible for you and then send you stuff, which leaves me worse off 'CAUSE I'VE GOT NOWHERE TO PUT IT!
Which reminds me...naw, I'll tell you later. _________________

They don't have to know that you live in a truck Hawky... The bio could just say that you live in Vermont and your favourite thing in the world is cheese...
And yes. Do tell us!
I had a dream about a truck shooting at me last night... _________________
