(i couldn't reply because my net has been a pain!)
Jandai was blown this way and that, and eventually she just couldn't take it any more. She flew down to the ground and became her favourite shape; a wolf-cheetah hybrid, she could run as fast as she wanted, and her bones felt relief as soon as she left that bat shape, it felt so good to stretch out her legs, and swish her tail. This transformation only took a matter of seconds, and then she was off again...
The rain had stopped and she could smell the fairy, somewhere ahead and upwards... She followed the scent as fast as she could.
There were voices up ahead and she slowed her pace. She stood, peering through the trees, there were more Fairies up ahead, and she positioned herself behind a tree, far enough back that they shouldn't be able to see her, but close enough that her sensitive cheetah-wolf ears could pick up what they were saying.
It sounded as if they were having a disagreement... There was something in the voices that said that the other Fairies didn't care much for the Fairy that she had been following... Her fairy did not seem to care much for what they had been saying either, but there was a touch of need in her voice...
Suddenly one of the older fairies went rigid and announced that she had smelt something; it couldn't have been Jandai that she had smelt, could it?
All of the fairies rushed inside a nearby cave that Jandai hadn't even noticed, it seemed hidden, it looked as if it wasn't even there, until the fairies disappeared inside it.
The last to leave the clearing was the fairy that she had been following, who looked around, through the trees once, before disappearing.
Jandai surveyed the sky and the treetops now, looking for that other creature.
She felt that if the creature had been going to attack the girl, he would have done so already, or perhaps it was a strategy... to find all of them...?
Perhaps he was going to fly into the cave and gobble up fairies left and right... Stealing their souls, and making it so that they would never be at peace... For that was what her mother had said these half-shifters did.
Jandai could not see him anywhere... but she felt sure that he was up there.
She didn't know what she should do... She could sit here waiting for the other creature to make its move and attack... or she could change form again and sneak into the cave... ready to change, and defend them...
Jaindai wondered to herself why she was doing this... These were strangers, she had never met them, and all the stories about half-shifters were enough to scare anyone off... She was terrified of what it would do to her, to her soul, if it caught her... but yet she couldn't turn away...
She changed form again and became a mouse, another uncomfortable shape, before dashing across the clearing to the opening of the cave, where she became even smaller still, she didn't want the scent of her wet fur to give her away again... here she became a bull ant and she moved into the cave, climbing along the rocks within the walls, and listening out for other talk from the fairies, as well as anything from behind her... _________________

Kroayla__♥
Her sisters seated themselves around the cave, sitting on the damp rocks. Kroayla enjoyed the feeling of the wet rock on her thighs.
"So, what happens now? Are you leaving again? Going off with some humans?" Asked a faery sitting by Gragora.
"Shhh fool!" Gragora hissed, slapping the faeries leg so that the noise echoed in the cave. "That creature we smelt, might not be gone. I'm not telling any plans of what we may be doing, no matter if it's one of us or . . her." Gragora finished giving Kroayla a glare.
Well, at least she cared.
"I think that things still lurking around." She sniffed.
"I - I don't think so Gragora. I can't smell anything." A faery commented.
"Duh! They might of gone up-wind of us now. I'm not taking any chances."
After a few moments of awkward silence Kroayla piped up.
"Look, I don't care who's listening. I'm not up for staying with you guys." She walked over to the foot of the cave, her bare feet padding on the cold floor.
"Don't be so stupid!" Gragora scorned. "Leaving now, like this could put us all in danger of whatever was listening outside. Your entrance put our safety in jepordy (sp) as it is! Our secrecy is fast becoming public and we can't afford to have you pulling stunts like this."
Sighing, Kroayla knew she was right. Retreating deeper into the cave she sat down.
"O.k, I'm here til morning, then I'm leaving at dawn. I'll make sure nothing is around before I go." Kroayla whispered into Gragora's ear.
Gragora pulled an annoyed face, but nodded.
Some of the nymphs exchanged whidpered gossip, eying Kroayla up and down.
To avoid further embarrasment and another awkward scene, Kroayla made up her mind to get some rest. She crawled into the corner, by a puddle and lay down in the cool water and drifted off. _________________ Spider, Spider, on the wall.

Tsoren was dissapointed. Nothing had come, the scent vanishing into the wind. The heat sensors around his eyes had not picked up any life, nothing but a mouse that had curiously vanished. Knowing he was alone, the hybrid leapt out of the tree and glided down to the ground with a gentle thud on the rocks. The unusual little creatures had left no sign, and it was here that the mouse had disappeared, and there was nothing showing its passing either. Here was a real mystery he wished to solve. He began digging away at the soft earth with is sharp claws. _________________ It does not do to leave a live dragon out of your calculations, if you live near him.

Jandai
Jandai curled up in between two rocks... She took on the form of a lizard; she just felt too vulnerable in insect form.
She made sure that she was able to see the girl, and also able to keep an eye out for the half-shifter, who she could now sense just outside the mouth of the cave.
She vowed that she would stay awake, and watch, just to make sure that she was prepared for whatever happened...
But she lay there... And in the midst of all that had been happening, she felt the weariness wash over her.
She struggled, trying her best to stay awake.
But, without her realising, her eyes closed, and she was asleep.
********
Jandai woke up, and she felt lost.
She could not remember where she was, or what had been happening, she stretched out and felt her lizard form brushing against the rocks.
She heard something.
There was movement, and talking.
And then Jandai could sense someone standing near her. She felt as though they could have been looking at her, but she was too scared to move, or even to look to find out for sure if someone, or something, did indeed have its eyes on her. _________________

Kiara woke up relizing she forgot everything. Her head was clouded, she sat up slowly looking arround. She couldnt figure were she was. She rubbed her eyes and stood up looking arround curiosly again. She started walking arround quietly. Kiara saw a man in the distance carrying a knife. He walked past her. _________________ I lost m person.. |

Kroayla__♥
Dawn. Finally.
Kroayla had hardly slept at all last night. As the sky began to get lighter and blurs of orange signalled sunrise, Kroayla stood up from her mossy bed on the floor. She stretched in the warmth of the rising sun and looked behind her, at hr sisters. How beautiful they looked. How angelic and innocent they seemed, eyes closed, piled on top of each other, chests rising and falling as they took breath.
Kroayla, more than anyone, knew thier vicious sides. But as she watched them, thier angelic blonde ringlets dancing around their faces, she couldn't help but smile. Maybe she could stay another night . . ?
No. She slapped herself out of it. She wasn't being drawn in by thier charm. Shaking her head to wake herself up, she shook specks of glitter onto the floor. She looked down. Faery dust never ceased to amaze her.
She spotted a lizard. Crawling between the rocks. This had probably been the animal her sisters had caught the scent of. Laughing to herself she continued to watch the reptile.
It could tell she was there. The lizard had stopped, and now it's eyes were swinging in it's sockets, looking at her. Looking away and telling herself not to be so paranoid, Kroayla walked out of the cave. Her feet making soft tapping noises on the pebbled floor.
She'd already worn this dress for a few days now. She'd have to make something else soon, Kroayla decided. She'd lost her sash somewhere . . . Kroayla peered around, hunched over, looking for her blue silk only to come face to face with the lizard again.
"Hah! Shoo little one!" She giggled. After a few minutes she hadn't found her sash and decided to leave without it.
Just before she was about to flutter off she noticed how sparkling the lake was today. The water was as blue as the sky, and it was shimmering just like her wings. The water looked to cool and inviting.
Maybe she could swim part of the way?
So Kroayla slid into the lake slowly. Loing the blissful feeling of the soft water rising from her delicate ankles, over her legs, stomache and chest, right up to her neck. She waved her arms to and fro for a while creating ripples then suddenly dived down deeper, her arms propelling her through the water and she swam away. _________________ Spider, Spider, on the wall.

Tsoren darted away quickly as the thing came back up from underground, too preoccupied to notice the tunnel he had been digging. A small lizard was nearby, motionless, but still living. Tsoren considered taking it, he was hungry, but he had other matters at this time. Carefully he edged forward, following the small 'girl', down to the lake.
She started swimming.
Diving in the water after her, making no attempt for stealth, he powered through the water, his wings pushing him along.
"Wait. You. I want to talk!" he called out, desparate, he wasn't letting this go unsolved. He needed to know what she was. _________________ It does not do to leave a live dragon out of your calculations, if you live near him.

Ahhh. The water slid against her fine wings, and floated past her legs, putting her in her pure bliss. She opened her sparkling blue eyes, which were adapted to giver her crystal clear vision in the mysterious depths. The lake was getting deeper as she swam further along. The bottom was full of tiny pebbles and rocks, and tiny fish swishing together.
Suddenly they scattered, fleeing something.
It wasn't her. Fish were never scared of her. Scanning behind her she didn't notice anything. She was beginning to become fustrated now.
Last night, outside the tavern . . . then by the cave, now in the water.
Something was following her. She knew it.
Taking a deep breath she zoomed quicker threw the water, whatever it was proably wasn't as agile in the water as she was. She weaved effortlessly through the waves, her golden ringlets, dancing in the motion.
As the lake started to fan out, she knew she was close to the ocean. She swam to the side, propelling herself with her feet. She reached the bank, and climbed up into the long grass surrounding the lake on both sides.
She sat on small hill, overlooking the flowing water. The grass was so high it covered her tiny frame completely. Even though her features and shape looked like that of a full grown woman, she was as small as a child, but even if she'd been larger, she would have been able to conceal her shape in the long grass.
Noticing a feild full of flowers, she stood up, slightly crouched to hide herself, and went over to pick petals, from which to make a new set of clothes. _________________ Spider, Spider, on the wall.

Sorry, been a bit flat out for the past month and a half!!!
~Jandai~
After the girl had moved off, and she felt sure of the fact that no one was watching her, Jandai moved out from between the rocks and into the sunlight.
She looked around, blinking, her lizard eyes not used to such bright sunlight after such darkness.
When she could see through the glare, she noticed that there was no one nearby... The girl, and the thing that had been following her had disappeared...
Had the half-shifter had it's meal already?
Jandai refused to give up, but she was totally lost... Where should she start looking? She saw the sun reflecting off of the water nearby, and then she realised that this must be where the faerie had gone... She had slept in a puddle after all...
Jandai did not hesitate before rushing over to the water and beginning to take to shape of a large fish.
Halfway through her shift, Jandai began to panic, her shifting had slowed, and even stopped for a moment, and she feared that she was becomming a half-shifted... Would she forever be stuck with scaly skin, and webbed hands? Would she be doomed to walk the planet, hunting the souls of innocent creatures?!
What would the other half-shifted do? Would he fight her? He would surely win... He had claws, and wings... And he had not been stuck half shift between fish and human!
She tried to calm down... She Couldn't move either way!
She closed her eyes and thought of her mother... How her mother would stroke the bridge of her nose to calm her down...
She could feel the stroking of the bridge of her nose, as if her mother was there right now, even though she knew that was impossible.
But it had the desired effect... She was calmed, slightly, and she was able to complete the change...
Breathing the water in through her gills, she felt the cool relief wash over her.
She hurried to see if she could find this girl quickly... She really did not want to be stuck as a fish for the rest of her days, or even as a half fish... _________________

He lost her.
Whatever she was, she was fast.
Tsoren could find no trace of her scent.
Dejected he waded out of the water and sat down on the bank, spreading his wings out to dry them in the sunlight. He had found out many years ago that he could not fly with wet wings, we still bore the scars from that forgetable incident. _________________ It does not do to leave a live dragon out of your calculations, if you live near him.

*Hope*
Sitting on the hill, she pulled the soft blue petals together and began tieing them in the skillful way that only a faery knows of.
She fastened them together, fashioning a soft, pearly blue dress.
In the spare time, she thought of making other things, little accessories that her sisters might approve of, but then she thought against it.
They'll just get in my way, she sighed to herself, laying the spare petals down on the grassy floor.
Gazing at the beautiful lake, she spotted something. It was far away, on the opposite side and down stream. She could just see it's dark outline.
Squinting at the creature, a worried sense of familiar washed over her but still she did not realise what it was.
She crept down, still covered by the grass, to the furthest she could go the the bank. Whilst staring at the shape across the lake, something else caught her eye. A little fish was swiming towards her.
How sweet! She thought, Fish often swam with her in the water, and this one was gazing up at her. She put her finger into the water and wriggled it causing ripples, and tiny splahes and the fish swam away in fright. _________________ Spider, Spider, on the wall.

The dull ache of hunger slowly crept into Tsoren's chest. He had not eaten all night and being half-dragon he needed to eat more regularly and of much greater quantity than a normal human.
Fortunately he had no qualms about eating raw meat, and he looked the fish filled river with an eager eye.
One caught his attention, floating near the surface and staying quite still, it was alive but it seemed sick for why else would it stay in such a vulnerable position.
Keeping his wings raised high, Tsoren pounced... _________________ It does not do to leave a live dragon out of your calculations, if you live near him.
