Ohhhhh boy. I'm so incredibly flustered.

I have to write a (no longer than) five page, double spaced, piece of writing in order to get accepted into next year's honors English class. It's open genre... THEN I have to go take a test! They give you one hour to write about a topic you've never seen before. And I don't know how long it has to be.

I dunno guys. It's easy to write when it's spontaneous and you just feel like it...but this is something that's new to me...

Confused

So you want help with practicing for the test thing???

If you have us suggest ideas and your try and write on that topic... that would be good practice for you...

What about...

In ancient times people would sacrifice members of their village to the gods, by cutting their throat, cracking their skull, and then throwing them into a bog and weighing them down. So they were sacrificed to three different gods at once...

Write a story about this time, and write about one such incident; as the character who is being sacrificed, an onlooker, or in third person.

(and then post it on the figments! Very Happy )

Thanks! I might just try that. But I think I could use help with topics for the free writing. I'll think of something for the test durring the test meethinks...

But that was very interesting. Smile

Oh! So you are wanting ideas for the "less than five pages, doubles spaced" thing?

What genre are you wanting to do? Fantasy?

Uhm..... *Thinks*

Ooh! Howsabout this:

It's a story about a guy trying to come up with a topic for an english class. But he/she can't think of anything. Then in the end they end up writing the story that you just did.

OMG. He/she plagiaraised'd'd'd...

Hmm...Interesting indeed.

And I don't have a genre picked out.

But it's supposed to be my "best"...whatever that is.

*wracks brain*

My best would probably be a dead fish on toilet paper.

Then I'd get expelled. No, they'd hit me with the fish, steal my hair, wait until it grows back and then steal that, and then chop me up into little pieces and eat 'em and THEN expell me.

YOUR SCHOOL IS MEAN! xD

Awww. Now I'm sure that's not true!

Whatever happened to the open genre? They should let anyone who really wants to be in Honors, be in Honors. As long as they are willing to work. Well, that's my reasoning anyway.

Can it be a story you have done in the past, or does it have to be completely new?

When do you have to have it by?

I always find that Fantasy is my best genre, and also easier to write...

Perhaps if you create a character, and then certain foibles of theirs will help to develop a story?

Must be done either by the 18th (Weds) or next Monday.

It doesn't have to be new but I don't know if I've done anything quite so big before...

That's a good idea too..

edit:

Darnit! Now I have to go do other homework...You can keep adding ideas if you have them and Ill check back later!

Thanks you two! Cool

18th? *checks watch* OhmyGod. That's like, in two days.

*purposely runs into metal pole* I hate it when I sound like one of those cheerleader popular types! It's creepy!

Very Happy

What do you think of this...

A person (story told in first person) has just killed a very well off politician responsible for many innocent civilian deaths. The plan was sure to work and it did. After reviewing the events leading up to after the killing, the protagonist must decide what to do next. She is considdering going to the press to let the people know what the politician, and himself, have done.
What will happen next? I have no idea! Razz

So what do you think? It's just an idea so please feel free to express any opinion you may have concerning it. HONESTY IS GOOD! Very Happy

Or, maybe someone is after this person, and they feel terrified because they know someone knows what they did, right? So then in the end they decide to tell everyone what happened, but it turned out the person was actually their spouse or something and it turns out THEY killed the guy. And...the protanogist goes to jail. And the guy who killed the guy was only using this political figure as a puppet, and since their puppet is dead (as all puppets should stay...Shocked) they go into hiding, and their wife/husband tries to tell the world about the other, but they think he/she's insane, and then maybe the other dies for some strange reason. I dunno. Sounds like a good movie like the Bourne Identity.

Seriously? I think I was still out-of-it from my "watch old Disney movies all day unless the power shorts out" stupor. And lack of sleep.

But if you like it...I was totally paying attention to what I was writing. Very Happy
