Come here to post things about religion. DO NOT try to convert people here or tell them their religion is wrong, because that's just not cool. You can post inspirational stories from your religion or information on religions for people to read over if they're not sure about what religion they want to be. Do not say a religion is evil or inhuman because that would qualify as abuse.

I'm trusting you to be responsible and respectful.

I dunno if it's a religion or not, but cannibalism is not human. And I'm just going to assume nobody here is a cannibal. *watches Shaye carefully* xD kidding...

I don't know, I don't think I've ever seen God perform miricles with my own two eyeballs...then again I have bad eyesight, so, yeah. Lemme think...lemme think...well, once after I had fallen under a picnic table and ended up with this huge scar on my back, looked like a frickin' komodo dragon attack, I was climbing a tree (I heal fast. Very Happy) and my back still hurt. Then I was just sitting up there, and I was praying that my back would feel better so I could help set up my Aunt Jackie's 300 millionth birthday party. So just then, Morgan goes "HAWKINS! TIME TO GO!" so I try to get down, right? But then I slipped and fell a good six or seven feet and landed right on my back. On a root. Either it totally paralyzed my back or my prayer was answered, because my back felt fine. Except until the party was over. Then it hurt like crap. Next time, specify I don't want it to hurt anymore, even after the party's done.

I can't really speak very well of God.

I just... I can't really have a word to describe how I view god.

God's nothing like Christian/Jewish/Muslim God, or Hindu Gods... or anything.

God, in my mind, is neither a man nor woman. God is all loving. Meaning god doesn't care whether you believe in god or give god goat's blood or worship god every day five times a day. God has given us a gift of life - and it's up to us what we want to do with it. God doesn't care if you're Muslim or Christian or an African tribal religion. Just as long as you love the life you're living. We serve god by living our life to the best of our abilities. God is there, somewhere. Knowing, loving, crying, teaching. Whatever god is doing, god is doing it with a purpose.

I know, right now, that there's no way we're doing this 'life' thing correctly. God - whatever essense it may be - doesn't want /this/ for the world. We're tearing down creations, killing our fellow humans, waring over oil, hating over religion, color, race or intelligence. Hating for no purpose other than to hate. Greed governs many's lives. We want we take we keep - but only few of us give. That's not what God wants.

Not my god, anyway.

God is my father, my mother, my sister, my brother, my best friend, my pet, my favorite pencil, my favorite movie, my favorite quote, my favorite day, my favorite moment.

God is my everything.

I just don't know who God is.

Organized religion is the cause of a large quantity of the horrible things in this world, therefore I can't approve of it. Frankly, in my opinion, religion is obsolete. Also, utter faith scares the Sh*t out of me.

I've seen enough bad things in this world that I can't believe that there is some all powerful being above us. And if there is, I can't believe he/she/it is good.

ETA: Ha! It automatically sensors me.

I don't believe in the Christian God. I have trouble believing that someone who's as loving and forgiving as God supposedly is would create animals with feelings and lives...SOLELY to be killed.

However; bad things are about choice. He didn't MAKE Osama Bin Laden evil; he chose to be evil. And everyone who lives in poverty and all that, it's still choices. Or maybe it's kharma. Either way...a world where everyone is completely equal wouldn't work well, would it?

Uh-oh, here comes Trin to talk about religion..... Wink

My beliefs are that there is a God and that he watches over every little thing we do. He's there for us when we're sad, when we're happy, when we're hurting, he's always there for us no matter what we've become and he's always waiting for us to redeem ourselves despite our sins.

I also believe that sins cannot be easily forgotten by him however, that would make everything easy to do. Go kill a guy then admit your sins and suddenly you're forgiven? God waits for us to pray to him and tell him our sins, and we pray every night until we feel we're forgiven by him and that we forgive ourselves. Once both have happened I believe God forgets that sin, he is powerful enough that he can just make the thought leave his mind and niether have to worry about it any longer.

For me God created us in his image, he gave us life and he's not going to force our hand in how to live it. He asks so little of us in return, church every Sunday and to pray to him and tell him about our lives every morning and evening.

I know people have different beliefs about what happens to us after we die, it makes me so hollow to think that people believe this is it. We live, we die then we cease to exist at all. I believe that there is life after death, we don't cease to exisit or all go to some spirit world. There are also more than two choices, there is a heaven and a hell yes but there are other kingdoms out there as well. The highest one will allow us to live again with our Heavenly Father, where our families will be waiting for us and we'll live together in a place too beautiful for words to describe. As long as we live the way he would like us to we can have all of that and more.

These are my beliefs as they've always been and always will be.

Mae seems to think that as long as you believe in a God; you're on the right path. For instance...there is no RIGHT WAY. If the only way for you to get to Heaven/Nirvana/Buddha Land etc. is Christian; what kind of loving and forgiving God would do that? If you look at all the creation stories; they all closely resemble. I don't know what they all are...but the Native American story is that God layed out land first, then the seas, then spread animals, then man. The Christian story goes the same way. And if I'm not mistaken; quite a few others as well. *shrugs* Dunno.
