For me, music is the great inspirer. The Phoenix was inspired by a combination of the songs 'Phoenix from the flames' by Robbie Williams and 'Stay' by SHakespeares sister. 'Stay' also inspired I am Death.
For obvious reasons 'Invisible Man' inspired me to right the extra verse... (I really hope that didn't need explaining...)

Are any of you inspired by music?

yes, I am very much inspired by music, usually emo songs as although I am not one, they are deep and emotional and their lyrics are... I don't know the word. Very Happy

I am absolutely energized by any country music. I stopped listening to the radio just because I had no real time for a bit, and when I turned it back on again, it was a wave of nostalgia, happiness, and relief.

Music has definitly inspired me:D I've been inspired by The Beatles, Elton John, Billy Joel, and others. Songs such as "Behind these hazel eyes" (Kelly Clarkson) and"Far Away" (Nickelback) have really inspired me. There are others but I can't think of them right now.

I totally agree, i mean whenever i listen to a song i am hit by this wave of emotion and a great brainstorm . . . which is usually followed by extreme writers block Confused
I get all my best ideas from listening to music, even when my work has NOTHING to do with the song i listened to. Music sorts out a load of my other problems like stress etc. I have to listen to it when i do homework aswell. . . pretty much anything Smile

I tend to listen to music whatever I'm doing- working, writing, or exam-ing. I can't do anything with complete silence, and so I always have music. It tends to be my whole library just put on shuffle when I'm writing, and... I kind of listen to the music in my head doing the other things... It's surprising- it actually works, and quite well Very Happy

Same here, except i also like to listen to music while staring at my visualiser. i did that for a whole 4 hours once. it gave me a few ideas for art... lol very inspirational!

Personally I love listening to alternative, girls ballad, ROCK!, folk, PHYC ROCK, lounge, unigue, world, and some of that indi music is ok. - i find indi and world really inspirational, oh and phyc rock - PINK FLOYD!

But if you want storylines then listen to folk. theres some real inspiration there, but it has to be good.

Wow... you're really picky with the types of music you like, aren't you?

I like things with captivating lyrics, almost any genre. Except rap/hiphop. I banned rap/hiphop from my life when i was 11. Therefore I should be president Razz

I got ideas for most of my stories from listening to music, even if they are nothing to do with the songs!
One of my stories is entirely based on 'Lovers Requiem' by 'I am Ghost'!
