Well I found something. I apparently had a granola bar in my pocket. That'll probably hold me off until I go home (which is in a half hour, 'cause that's when the library closes.)

Okay do we all know what happens when a brother and a sister have sex? They get sick. Really, deathy ill. If the sister gets pregnant with her brother's baby, the baby dies because the chromosomes are unable to form correctly due to the fact that the sister and the brother share the same chromosomes. The mother (sister) dies along with the baby while the dad (brother) continues to puke blood and lose bone density by the minute. If God did in fact take adam's rib to make eve, then they couldn't have possibly reproduced due to the fact that they have the SAME DNA and blood type and bone marrow and everything except the sex organs.

I choose to believe God is smart. He could POOF create the world in an instant (or a week...whatever), but that's too simple for the god I'd like to believe in. I like to think that God is smart enough to make animals and bacteria that could evolve. I mean, a butterfly does it, and god created the butterfly. I want to believe that God was smart enough to create a world where things could live independantly and evolve into something more, after all...don't all humans do the same thing?

I'm done with that.

Eh, to be honest that's a real extreme. I've never heard about the parents of incest dying, but i guess it's possible. You see, most genetic diseases are caused by recessive genes on the crhomosomes. Normally it's almost impossible for a person to get these diseases because the odds of getting those two genes from your parents is so small. But when two relatives have sex they are swapping very similar chromosomes, and the chances of producing these recessive genes in an offspring go way up. I don't see how this would kill the parents, but it has a possibility of making an extremely deformed child. Although, there's also a chance that the child will be normal and completely unaffected. It basically just comes down to the chance of matching those recessive genes, and how far the incest chain in your family goes down. i.e. your grandparents are simblings and so are your parents. Good proof of this is the old royal families in Europe, including the British royal family. They thought that inbreeding was a way to keep their blood pure, little did they know that it was causing their family to become full of mental disorders and retardation.

I'm no where near an expert on this stuff so I'm probably wrong about some things. But i remember we had a long discussion about inbreeding in my biology class, and i thought I'd share the information with you guys.

Here's more information on the subject: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inbreeding#Inbreeding_in_humans

Now for my thoughts on racism. I find it quite disgusting how extreme some people can get on the issues of race. But i think for the most part, everyone is somewhat prejudice, even if only for an instance. I'm not sure how it is for everyone else in the world, but here in America it sometimes feels like caucasians(which I am) are the minority to the Black and Hispanic populations. I don't like to think of myself as a racist, but sometimes it gets really annoying to hear such a large portion of the Black populace blame things on slavery and racial issues. For instance, there was a big ordeal back during hurricane Katrina, because alot of Black people felt that FEMA and our president's slow response to the situation was because New Orleans was mostly African-American. In my opinion that is foolish and ignorant. I'm not trying to single out the black people here, in fact i know my race is responsible for it's share of racism.
Another thing that's sickening is how people treat the Islamic population. My lacrosse team has quite a few muslims on it, and they are all really cool. Just because they pray to Allah doesn't make them a terrorist, which is the mindset of an unfortunate number of people. Less then half a year ago, at a community college just up the street from where I live, a couple of football players beat up some muslim kids for no other reason then the fact that they were Islamic. And when i say beat up, I mean they destroyed these students; it was not a pretty sight. How do think that made my friends feel, knowing that kind of Sh*t happens right here in our own town? Not very good. The court ruling for the assault let the football players go free of charge; they didn't even get kicked out of the college. That kind of stuff really makes me lose faith in our justice systems.
Another thing i find appalling is how people treat others because of the country they are from. Here in America you can't turn on the news without seeing some country burning the stars and stripes. I have extremem nationalism, and i know that's a bad thing some times, but it feels good to be proud of the country you live in. I know America has its flaws, but so does every other country. It's just depressing knowing that 2/3 of the world hates you. Hell, I can't even play video games online without me and my buddies becoming the victim of some European players' "crude humor". I've been called everything from a redneck hillbilly, to an obese yankee piece of Sh*t. I don't know what gives people the right to think they are better then someone else based off of the country they live in.
I just wish people would stop thinking of themselves as individual races. It's like we're all just a bunch of high school cliques and stereotypes.

(I don't expect anyone to read all of that, but it felt good to get it off my chest)

I read it all *beams*

No I totally understand. People always take the mick when they find out I'm English.

These American guys came over for a holiday, or whatever. (not being racist here guys 'cause I love all of you americans on here and I know most of you are lovely Very Happy) and I was with my friend and the boys were asking us where things were (toilet's etc.) and whenever we spoke this boy at the back would whisper everything we said to his mate in a posh british accent to take the mick.

I can't possibly be racist, because I have so many friends from different places.

Everywhere has their flaws, and it's stupid to criticise one place, because looking a lot closer to home can show how bad your own turf is.
I have a muslim friend called Danita and whenever we go in town people shout such offensive things towards her and they've never even spoken to her.
If it was me, I'd shout back, but Danita insists that it happens all the time and it's best to leave it. And one time, I slept around her house and we went shopping with her family the next day, she has two younger sisters who are both under 8 years old, and a guy drove past in his car, wound down the window and screamed out;
"Effin' Pakis!"
(sorry if that offended anyone)

I think it's awful =[ no one can help how they're born no more than you can. And I love people having different cultures. At school we have culture days where we dress up in the clothes of other countries, eat their food and learn some of their language or a tradition, like dancing.

It's so fun. Having different nationalities can be fun, but everyone chooses to make a fight out of it.

-- Yeah Shaye, the parents don't get harmed. The baby will get affected due to the similar chromosomes from the two parents. But the mum and dad will be fine because there is no way for them to get harmed, unless it is for other reasons outside them being related. How exactly would the father lose bone density and puke blood? Sounds like a loud of dog poo to me . . .

*glares at Shaye who used the word 'british' as an insult*

All right.

I'm wrong, you're right.

Happy?

I guess the diseases were made up.

MDs just play jokes sometimes.

Whatever.

And anyway, I've given up on politics.

But I will say something about racism.

It's dumb. We're all from africa if you trace us back, and I only have this freakishly white skin because one of my ancestors said, "Hey, dude. Lets go chase this herd of antelope and see where it takes us." Then, we got to where we were going and eventually our skin became white.

Wait... that might have offended somebody. Scratch that.

How about... it's illogical. To hate somebody just because their skin is a different pigment is just stupid. Would you hate somebody with autism if you met them? Hmm... I wouldn't. They can't help it.

Actually, that has nothing to do with what I'm really trying to get across.

How about... People are people. You make choices in life and it's your life. Your choices. Some people choose to go back to school and make a better life for themselves. Some people choose not to and live in poverty. We choose to hate. We are not told to hate. Some people believe that there are certain people that you should hate, but I disagree. You shouldn't hate. You can hate certain things, I guess. Like... dirty dishes... or cancer. We shouldn't hate the stripper any more than we should hate the doctor. I believe that people change, a lot of people don't, but I do. I believe that people will choose the life they wish to live.

But... what do I know?

Nevermind. Don't listen to me. I don't really know anything.

You choose. As I said, I've given up on politics.

And Butterflii - when did I say 'british' as an insult?
