I'm not sure if this will be funny to you guys, but it was to me.

Me: Mom, writing romance is easy.
Mom: What are you talking about?
Me: Listen!
Me (in dramatic fashion): I remember that night so clearly. We were alone as the waves gently brushed the shore in rhythm with our hearts. The sun plunged under the horizon, but we were oblivious to the color bursting from the heavens, for we were lost - so lost - in each other's eyes.
[dramatic pause]
Me: Peice of cake, see?
Mom: Yeah, Shaye... but people have to like it.

Travis told me that once. He was being retarded about it. "YOU'LL NEVER BE A WRITER, BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO WRITE STUFF THAT PEOPLE WANT TO READ. AND YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO SHARE IT. SO SUCK IT UP AND GET OVER IT." I told him that when they find his body, they'll find my license(sp?) plate numbers stamped into his back. XD

And you think romance is easy? I can write those non-fiction-esque fictions stories without even trying. Watch--

Tess swung on the tire swing in the fading light. "Really brings you back, doesn't it, Jack?" Jack looked grimly at the lake in front of him. "Want to go for one last swim, before summer's over and you move away to *insert horrifically far location here*?"

PFFT, sure it is. Writing someone that somebody will enjoy...now THAT takes some skill. Lucky for me, it's the only partial skill I have. Un-lucky for me, I've had writers block since June of last year. And I don't make a living off my writing. I make a living off talking to animals. That's something that'll look good on the ol' resume! Very Happy
