Has anybody but me heard about the fact that "experts" (psh, more like trouble causers) say Santa should slim down to set a better example for kids? How ridiculous! I know a lot of people are agreeing with this but it's just plain stupid! Can anyone picture a skinny Santa? He wouldn't be Santa if he was a toothpick! It was just something I read about the other day and my mouth literally fell open and the ignorance of it. I've never met a single person who said "Yeah I got fat cause Santa's fat so it made it okay." How could Santa being skinny set a better example for kids? I don't understand that......

Also he should not be able to say "Ho, ho, ho" cause it could be considered offensive to women. Oo

Then next comes the being politically correct in todays society. No longer can we christian folk be allowed to say Merry Christmas, it's Happy Holidays now. Why should it matter what we wish people? You're saying Merry Christmas and you're not trying to make them choose your faith your wishing them well and happiness during this joyous time, why does that have to be offensive anymore? I wouldn't care if someone told me Happy Holidays, Happy Hanukah, Happy Romadan or whatever religion you are I know your wishing me a good rest of the year so why should other people feel any different?

Why does anything you say anymore these days have to be anylyzed in your own mind before you say it so you don't "offend" someone?

I figured I'd bring these issues up during Christmas season since it's just around the corner. And yes I will continue to say Christmas and Merry Christmas cause I don't care if I offend you, M'kay? ^_^

Stupid stupid stupid. That's what all of these things are. It won't be long until we won't be able to say anything without fear of offending someone, somewhere. We live in a sad, stupid world. Sad

Screw that.

Santa's fat. No question.

People are dumb. No question.

Okay - Ronald McDonald I understand - BUT SANTA?

Come ON people! How many little kids do you see running around saying, "I'm gonna be fat when I grow up! Just like Santa!"

Actually, you aren't technically allowed to say "Happy Holidays" either. It implies that A) the person you speak to should endeavour to be happy whatever may befall them, and B) they are having a holiday, religious or otherwise.

What you should say is "I wish you an agreeable winter solstice". That way you are not demanding happiness from somebody for a holiday they may or may not partake of.

I love you trinity. ^^ NOT IN A CREEPY WAY. o_O

Another problem brought up is that people are thinking about not taking Christmas off anymore; because nobody else gets Hannukah off or Kwanza off or anything else like that. It's supposed to be that because Christians are the majority, they get their holiday off. BUT NO, THAT'S OFFENSIVE BECAUSE IT'S THE FACTS!

Not quite.

How about "YOU DAMN WELL BETTER HAVE A HAPPY HOLIDAY OR WILL HUNT YOU DOWN AND GUT YOU LIKE A FISH!"

Now /that's/ got a ring to it.

Yay! Someone loves me and even in a non creepy way! Ditto to you Hawkins. Very Happy

Now that you mention that ArcT I remember hearing something about the "I wish you an agreeable winter solstice" thing. I just think for the most part they'd rather you say Happy Holidays more than anything else. But sure enough they'll probably begin to work hard at the winter solstice thing.
