Alright. I hate closed-minded people.
I seriously HATE when somebody makes a really closed-minded remark, and nobody sees anything wrong with it.
Yesterday, at my locker, a kid named Eric comes up and talks to the kid next to me (Jon) and says, "Did you hear that nigger over there?"
and I just looked at him.
Really? Seriously, people? Are we stuck in the 1800s and 1900s? Get this: I go to a school where we have about 5 kids that aren't white. That means Mexican, Asian, everything. About 5-7.
And we still say crap like that? You'd think, that sinse we're so sheltered here in my little town, that we could at least treat people equally.
Oh no. Ignorance is global. That's right - everywhere. So don't come in here and say, "But... England/Australia/Canada/China/Timbuktu doesn't have racist people..." because you know that there are racists everywhere.
I hate - hate - when people say, "you're so gay" and things like that.
Why is that such an insult? Why? If you called a person gay, and they really were gay, you'd feel really bad, right? So why the hell do it in the first place?
Another thing I don't get - Why are some people just so STUPID?
Seriously, I am a true believer in people being able to change and everyone being equal - but GOD! I'm and NOT going to deny that some people are just insufferably STUPID.
I don't know how to explain this really, but you could tell - I'll call them Billy - You can tell Billy that the earth is round, when he believes it's flat. He will go to great lengths to prove you wrong.
You show him a solar system. He shows you a map (which is flat, by the way). You show him a globe, he'll show you ANOTHER MAP. You will try to tell him over and over again that it's a round planet.
OH no. No no no no. The earth is flat, you idiot. Everyone knows that.
Billy will live the rest of his days on a flat earth. Just because he's too dim to listen to what you're trying to tell him.
Billy is an idiot.
Narrow-Minded people and stupid people usually fall into the same category in my book.
Seriously people, OPEN YOUR EYES! _________________ ~Shaye

Mae just yelled at me for saying racist. It's not racism; it's bigotry. Racism is when you hate or dislike someone purely for their skin color. Bigotry is when you hate or dislike someone purely because they're different. I grew up in the king of a bigoted towns, believe me...sure, I glorify my days in Maine with the Yankees, but anyone who wasn't born in Machias (or in their own living room...o_O) was an outsider. I was told by an /adult/ when I was in second grade to go back to Norway because I have no right to just barge in on their quaint little town.
As for the nigger comment; kids these days (^^ I love saying that.) think that they're cooler than anything when they swear up and down like sailors. I personally want to beat the crap out of them all, 'cause they annoy me to no end, but I need a real reason or I could end up in prison. :/ Norman tells me it's boring. Anyway... _________________

I'm an elitist. Rather than being prejudice by such ridiculous things as skin colour and instruments (okay I am a little sectionist), I'm prejudice against stupidity. No, really. It's something I try to ignore, but the voice is still there. I always have fun with people who say, "you are so gay." I have one of three basic responses:
1) "Why, thank you. I /am/ happy."
2) "Why yes, handsome." *starts acting "gay"*
3) "Five bucks."
As you can see I fight a losing battle against homophobia. While I /am/ straight, I play the part of the gay a lot. It's always fun watching the horrified looks on your friends faces when you hug them (there is something seriously wrong with them for that though).
I live in Whiteville, USA, so I don't see racism up close, so I don't have strong views with it (okay I strongly oppose it, but you won't hear me rant about it). Homophobia on the other hand... _________________ Remember, a velociraptor can run at 10 m/s (indoors) and it knows no fear. |

I've never much cared for homosexuality; I don't support it...but I don't go displaying all over the place "GAYS ARE BAD"...
And down in Otisfield, Maine, they celebrate Joe Holden day, the man who proved the earth is flat. So see; being narrow minded gets you nowhere, being open minded gets you peanuts and strawberry ice cream. ^^ _________________

Well my basic views on homosexuality is, don't hit on me and I'm happy. But I really hate it when people discriminate against other people and homosexuality is just the one I tend to see. _________________ Remember, a velociraptor can run at 10 m/s (indoors) and it knows no fear. |

No; they just celebrate a day based on a guy who proved the earth was flat way back in the 1700's. I always love going down there. ^^ I chased people with the pinata stick one year...ah, good memories... _________________

I believe there's something wrong with me.
I care way too much about the troubles of the world.
You know how you feel when you're super stressed and don't know what to do?
Well, I feel that all the time when I think about "The world"
Oh dear. I care way to much. I'm like May in The Secret Life of Bees. _________________ ~Shaye

ok, for dumb people I have 0 tolerance. I don't know if it was a good idea for me to look at this thread because it just got me started. One thing that is burning my bisquits is all the PC crap. I'm not talking about bigotry or racisim. I'm talking about not being able to barely sneeze without offending someone. Ok my BIG thing? Christmas. Now it is offensive to say Merry Christmas or for businesses to have Merry Christmas anywhere on their window displays. Because they could get into trouble for offending someone. People in America who say that this country was not founded by christians and that it was not founded with religion in mind, need to google a copy of the Declaration of Independence. And it just seems to me that it's ok for every other religion in the country to celebrate their beliefs but, when it comes to christians, we are offending them. What a bunch of crap!
Oh the kindergarteners can't hug in classes anymore, it's sexuall harrasment, What kind of sick minded people are we dealing with here? Oh and another one, kiddie soccer! Oh we can't keep score, it doesn't matter who wins, as long as the kids are participating. The kids don't need to deal with the pressure of losing, it's too much pressure and they get their feelings hurt!
So, what are we stuck with? A bunch of kids who grow up thinking competition is wrong until they join the real world and realise they can't make it because they don't have any stree smarts let alone common sense and go postal in a mall!
And another thing, people who lack common sense. I better not get started on that one. I could be here all night.
I have to give props to all the people on this board. But at the same time it seems a shame there are so few people such as yourselves left in this world.
And what is the deal with everyone and their brother thinking the world or society owes them something?? My husbands ex-wife seems to think that since she lacks the skills to get a better job than working at the local gas station, she deserves to live off of welfare! And she drives a better vehicle, eats better, and wears better clothes that hubby or I, And we work our you-know-whats off to have money taken out of our checks every week which go to people like her or the 18 or 19 year old girl who got pregnant before she wanted to and doesn't even finish school but sits at home yelling and beating her child while watching tv or playing on the freakin internet!
I'm done _________________ Jenn |

People who take advantage of government programs should be beated with a rusty poker.
Those programs are there to help people who really can't afford FOOD or SHELTER and need help in order to do so. My brothers are autistic, so we get a special deal from the government so that we don't have to pay for all their medications, because that would cost us about 20,000 dollars a year, and that's rediculous. People who file for welfare, then go and spend the money on a nice big pool or whatever are... just bad.
Oh and the whole Christmas thing is just dumb. Sure, this country was built on christianity, but it was furthermore built on RELIGIOUS FREEDOM. We should ALL be able to shout about how much we love God and Allah and Krishna and Buddha if we want to. _________________ ~Shaye

The whole "worship the pilgrims; they got you where you are now" at Thanksgiving kinda agitates me. They always tell the pilgrim story and how great the pilgrims are...why is this only a one sided thing?
The problem with this world is that they only take the side of the majority...the Christians are the biggest religious group, so the Christians run the stories. Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas--which is actuality is a Pagan ritual...and because of that; the Wiccans and the Native Americans are given a terrible reputation as witches and people who ought to burn at the stake; because they derive their 'magic' from Lucifer.
