Ok, i have decided that we will have a short story book coming out next year as well, if we have enough to put in it!
So... I need you guys to submit some short prose to me, via email( figment_queen@yahoo.com.au ) or PM me!
Lets make it between 4000 and 20,000... You decide... Not all stories will be garunteed to make it in, but it would be lovely to have a proper selection!
This one might come out mid-year, but the competition will end on the 31st of December at 11:59:59 PM.
Good luck guys!
And PLEASE enter! We can't have a book if there are no stories for it... And you won't make it in if you don't submit it! _________________

I hope to have time to write for this. Seeing as marching season is drawing to a close I should have time (if I'm not too busy working for the school newspaper or something...). _________________ Remember, a velociraptor can run at 10 m/s (indoors) and it knows no fear. |

Any particular theme at all, or a free-for-all? _________________ It does not do to leave a live dragon out of your calculations, if you live near him.

A theme would be cool... But what do you guys think would be a good theme? I mean i know that there are a lot more fantasy writers here, and there would be a good market for the book... But i also don't want to stop no-fantasy writers from entering... _________________

Yep, I'd agree with that one l2d.
Yes, like Figment said, a theme would be cool, but it will restrict certain authors here, and it would not sell to as wide a range of people. So yeah, a generic book I think; for the time being at least.
And of course, it will need to be 'g-rated'; or at the very least 'pg-rated' I'd say. _________________ It does not do to leave a live dragon out of your calculations, if you live near him.

oh no, I'm terrible at writing fanatasy!
I have a short story I'm writing right now as part of one of my courses and another one planned, but they're def not fantasy. They're psychological thrillers. _________________ ...:::Life is a balance of holding on and letting go:::...

I say keep it open now, and as more stories come in see what we think. Or at the very least wait until NaNo is over. _________________ Remember, a velociraptor can run at 10 m/s (indoors) and it knows no fear. |

Then write a psychological thriller
I doubt we will limit it to just fantasy, but we can have all genres _________________ It does not do to leave a live dragon out of your calculations, if you live near him.

Ditto what DarkWaltz said (nothing 'til December) and I don't consider myself much of a short story writer anyway... _________________ Altogether Too Unsophisticated To Deserve a Proper Postscript

I dunno...I really don't like having to work with copyrights and such; I mean, I want to contribute, but all the legal stuff freaks me out. That and publicity has always scared the living crap out of me. _________________
