Oscar Wilde was a playwright. He wrote "The Importance of Being Ernest", which is a hilarious play. He also wrote "The Picture of Dorian Grey" and probably some other stuff.

Trinity-- your comment about it being a choice is an interesting one. There's a lot of controversy about that. People have been studying genetics in relation to homosexuality as well as other personality traits. It seems like both "nature" and "nurture" have a part in it, from the little I know. Perhaps some people do choose to be homosexual. But it also seems like there may be genetics involved, though nothing's sure yet because they're still researching it...

Uh...I don't think nurture has anything to do with it. I was raised by dudes; (Mae is the manliest of all of us, so...yeah. o_O) and I'm pretty straight. 100% straight; not just 'pretty straight'. Meh...anywho; and there was not a whole lot of 'nurturing' in my childhood...lemme think...I lived in a boarding house with people who would just push me off the couch because they wanted to sit there, (A TWO YEAR OLD!) then my pa left, (oh, sob sob. I'll get over it. I just kinda want to talk to him; he sounds interesting. o_O) then...some other stuff happened but I don't wanna talk about it. I grew up in the WORST environment ever, no doubt about it, (but I still love all of them. *uber twitch*) and yet...I'm rather normal. I SAID RATHER.

What I'm saying is that I don't think growing up in troubled environments has anything to do with it; I think it's something along the lines of "oh...I really want to come out of the closet; but I can't just BE GAY, my parents will disown me...oh wait; my childhood was rather traumatic. I'll blame it on that!" sorta thing...

I really don't think it's up for any of us to decide what makes people gay or not.

I mean, none of us are gay.

We don't know.

For some it may be because they were raped, or something and distrust the opposite gender. I watched a story on that once. But for others, they might not be able to help it.

But I don't know. That's what my gay friends tell me, but I can't pinpoint a definite reason.

I just don't see what's so bad about love.

The world needs love. No matter what kind, in my opinion.

I just don't understand how a person can be born anything, is a murderer born a murderer as well? If we're to be born something then where is the free will in life? If we're born to be this or that then our life is already made for us and we have no say in how it goes. That's why I don't believe a person can be born gay.

Are you attracted to your own sex or not? Did you choose to be this way? I was born heterosexual, it was not a choice. I was born male; it was not a choice. I wasn't born a writer; that was a choice.

Murderers CAN be born murderers!

But we can help.

(Sociopaths)

Anyway. I was just going to say that I don't believe it's a choice, either. I don't think anyone would choose to be abandoned by their family and ridiculed (wow I think I spelled that wrong, I can't see this morning).

But maybe it is for some, and not for others.

Uh. Yeah.

-GD has a good point.

No no no. I feel that being raped is a pretty poor excuse for being gay or bi.

Muderers are generally mentally unstable, and can't control their rage. They aren't just born with hatred. (Unless they're Satan.) They have to be treated poorly their whole lives, and then CHOOSE how they want to vent.
